Edmonton Elks Unveil Their 2023 Theme Nights For All Home Games.

Yesterday, the Edmonton Elks announced all individual game tickets for their 2023 Canadian Football League season are now available. To add to that, the Edmonton Elks also unveiled their theme nights for all home games at Commonwealth Stadium. 

As we get closer to the 2023 CFL Season Opener, let us look at the theme nights for all Edmonton Elks home games.

Canadian Armed Forces Appreciation (Home Opener)

Sunday, June 11th, 2023 vs. Saskatchewan Roughriders at 5:00 pm.

Presented by the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 955.

All season long, fans can attend the west side of Commonwealth Stadium K97 Tailgate Party. Feel the buzz of the pre-game flyover by CF-18s. There will also be a new Kids Zone inside Clarke Stadium. This will also be an all season long event. Also, don’t forget to check out the music from Whale and The Wolf during the pre-game Fan Fest. 

90’s Night

Sunday, June 25th, 2023 vs. Toronto Argonauts at 5:00 pm.

Edmonton will lock horns with the defending Grey Cup Champions at the confines of Commonwealth Stadium. Enjoy the 1990s era music from all genres from the era. The ultimate frisbee will be performed at halftime. It will also be a day when the 1993 Grey Cup Champions team will be honoured for the 30th Anniversary of their great achievement when they were victorious over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 33-23 at McMahon Stadium in Calgary for the 81st Grey Cup.

Salute to Service 

Thursday, July 13th, 2023 vs. the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at 7:00 pm.

This is a day where you can say “Thank you” to all first responders who sacrifice a lot to proudly serve the City of Edmonton, along with Northern Alberta. The FireFit Championship Showcase will be presented at halftime that will display the athleticism of our local firefighters.

Country Night

Saturday, July 29th, 2023 vs.  BC Lions at 5:00 pm.

In Alberta, it’s inevitable. Country music has big roots in Alberta, along with the rest of the beautiful Prairies. It’s a day families can come to beautiful Commonwealth Stadium and dress the part. Bring your boots, hats, and Western clothing apparel, and enjoy a night where your beloved Green and Gold take on the BC Lions. Enjoy country music pre-game at the K97 Tailgate Party with tunes all night long. Also as a bonus, one lucky fan will win a trip to Music City. That’s right. You heard it. You could be off to Nashville! This trip is courtesy of the Edmonton International Airport.

Indigenous Celebration 

Thursday, August 10th, 2023 vs. Winnipeg Blue Bombers at 7:00 pm.

All over the Western Hemisphere in the Americas, Indigenous history is embedded and prevalent in all parts. This is a day when Edmontonian’s can come out and welcome a halftime performance of Dancing Cree. The Canadian National Anthem will also be sung in both English and Cree.

Wall of Honour Night   

Sunday, August 27th, 2023 vs. Ottawa REDBLACKS at 5:00 pm.

Presented by Purolator Tackle Hunger.

Although the Wall of Honour inductees for 2023 have not been announced, it will be another beautiful day to see the past greats that have donned the Green and Gold with pride. When coming to the game, help support the Edmonton Food Bank with monetary and or non-perishable food items in support of Purolator Tackle Hunger. The CFL and Purolator have been a great team since this initiative has been introduced raising millions in funds, along with millions of pounds of food yearly to support people in need. Because that’s what the good people of Alberta and Edmonton do. Support people in need.

Labour Day Rematch (Family Day Game)

Saturday, September 9th, 2023 vs. Calgary Stampeders at 5:00 pm.

The Labour Day rematch. Enough said. This is enough to come out and support your Edmonton Elks. The game will also be bittersweet if they win on Labour Day, along with this day. It is also Family Day (Not the Canadian Holiday in February), but it is a day where kids get royal treatment. Our junior in-game hosts return, along with handling the National Anthem and public address announcing. The Kids Zone will be alive and well at Clarke Stadium.

Campus Clash

Friday, September 22nd, 2023 vs. BC Lions at 7:30 pm.

It may be past Labour Day, and school has begun for a couple of weeks. But that is not to say that students can’t have a night out. Post-Secondary Students will have their chance to win big with a tuition contest at halftime, along with drink specials. You can also purchase used books to help yourself during the school year and save some money.

Christmas in October (Fan Appreciation Night)   

Saturday, October 14th, 2023 vs. Montreal Alouettes at 2:00 pm.

Edmonton fans will get to celebrate the spirit of Christmas with an abundance of giveaways throughout the game. It is a great time to wear a classic ugly Christmas sweater, along with finding your inner Elf, and dress like Will Ferrell.
