Hamilton Tiger-Cats Add WR Bralon Addison to Active Roster

On Wednesday, the Tiger-Cats announced that they added wide receiver Bralon Addison to the active roster. Addison had missed the start of the season due to injury.

Addison originally signed with Hamilton in 2018, but did not have an impact until the playoffs started. In just two postseason games, he caught 17 passes for 253 yards. This production continued into 2019, as he caught 95 passes for 1,236 yards and 7 touchdowns that year. He additionally had 218 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown off 36 carries. The strong campaign earned Addison CFL All-Star honors, and along with veteran wideout Brandon Banks, helped Hamilton make a Grey Cup appearance.

Prior to his CFL stint, Addison was a member of the NFL’s Denver Broncos and Chicago Bears in 2016. He only played in two games (both with Chicago), catching a single pass for 11 yards.

Due to the CFL cancelling their 2020 season, Addison was able to attempt an NFL comeback with the Minnesota Vikings. However, the team released him before he could appear in a game. The Tiger-Cats brought him back in 2021, hoping that he would continue to be a playmaker.

Addison’s return comes at a good time, as Hamilton could use another weapon for quarterback David Watford to throw to. Banks has dealt with injuries of his own this season, making Tim White their best option at the receiver position. The Tiger-Cats are currently 4-3, putting them just above .500 at the season’s halfway mark. There’s been plenty of ups and downs, but Addison should give the team some much needed stability.
