If the Roughriders were to sign Chase Claypool, Mosaic Stadium would be sold-out for the duration of the 2024 season. That is why it’s in the best interests of the team to make Claypool a solid offer, including a heafty signing bonus. If the Roughriders have to break the salary cap to achieve the signing of Claypool, so be it. It’s better to pay the fine and have Mosaic sold out, and to be more competitive, than to let this one slip away.

In the NFL, playing for a team like the Seattle Seahawks, Chase Claypool would see limited playing time. In the CFL, playing for the Roughriders, he’d be a starter and have a chance to be a top 10 receiver, and a chance to be a star again.
