Saskatchewan Roughriders Add Former Giant Defensive Tackle R.J. McIntosh

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have inked former New York Giants draft pick R.J. McIntosh.

The American defensive tackle was selected in the fifth round (139th overall) of the 2018 NFL draft by New York. In three seasons as a Giant the 6-foot-4, 291-pound lineman appeared in 18 games collecting 18 tackles and two sacks. The 27-year-old has also spent time with the New Orleans Saints, Green Bay Packers, Indianapolis Colts, and Miami Dolphins. McIntosh has been out of football since his tenure with the Dolphins ended in 2022.

The native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida played three seasons collegiately for the University of Miami. McIntosh was impactful in his 30 games with the Hurricanes putting up 98 tackles (including 22 tackles for loss), nine pass deflections, and five sacks. Also, he was named to the All-ACC second team as a junior in 2017.

With Micah Johnson, Anthony Lanier II, Miles Brown and Charbel Dabire all returning, it will be interesting to see if the former NFL draft pick can carve a role out for the Green and White.
