Blue Bombers Backed for Success After Bright Start

The Grey Cup” (CC BY-NC 2.0) by miss604

The 2022 Canadian Football League season may still be in its infancy, but early matches have offered some clear trends. Certain teams are already starting to pull away at the top of their respective divisions while others are playing ‘catch up’ following early setbacks.

While there is a long way to go, it’s a good time to assess those opening exchanges and see who is best equipped to lift the Grey Cup at the end of the campaign.

Pulling Ahead

After three games of the new CFL season, three teams were enjoying a one hundred percent record in the West Division. The British Columbia Lions, the Calgary Stampeders and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers had all won their first three matches.

The struggling teams in that section, at the same point in time, were the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Edmonton Elks who had just one win between them.

Over in the East, the Toronto Argonauts and the Montreal Alouettes are at the top, but no side has dominated the opening exchanges.

Those are the early results but is there enough information to decide on a Grey Cup winner in 2022?

The Neutral Verdict

The sportsbooks can always be relied upon to make an early judgment. Betting markets for the Grey Cup have been in place since before the start of the season and they are updated on the back of every result.

According to bookmakers as sourced by Sbo.net, Winnipeg are the team to beat. The Blue Bombers are favorites for the trophy while the British Columbia Lions are expected to provide the closest challenge.

Behind the top two, a gap opens up before we come to third favorites Saskatchewan. The Roughriders may have endured a shaky start to the 2022 CFL season but clearly they’re expected to improve in the weeks ahead.

Other teams in with a chance, according to those sportsbooks, are the Calgary Stampeders, the Montreal Alouettes and the Toronto Argonauts.

Those assessments don’t necessarily tie in with the respective starts to the season, but they are good indicators as to what might happen moving forward. The odds remain subject to change and Sbo.net will report on any updates as they come in.

Visitors to the website can consider any changes while taking in breaking news stories and general blog posts that appear here. Hundreds of betting sites reviews are published and it’s possible to get directly involved in the markets.

Any sportsbook that’s mentioned will be willing to accept new customers. Following a quick and secure registration process, many will have a generous welcome package to take advantage of.

There should be a wide set of funding methods which can get the account moving while customer services are on hand to iron out any queries. Once playing as a regular customer, there will be a choice of other sports plus the likelihood of mobile betting and in-play markets.

It’s a logical site to follow for anyone looking to bet on the Canadian Football League and the odds are interesting at this early stage of the 2022 campaign.

Who will lift the Grey Cup in 2022?

The independent tipsters have had their say but have they called it correctly? The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are, of course, the defending champions, having lifted the Grey Cup at the end of 2021.

Many of that successful roster remain at IG Field and will be targeting a repeat under Head Coach Mike O’Shea. The Blue Bombers went into the tournament as the defending champions and have now won each of the last two editions of the Grey Cup.

It’s interesting to note that last season’s losing finalists the Hamilton Tiger Cats are given little chance in 2022. Admittedly, they have made a disastrous start to the season, losing their first four games, but there is plenty of time to catch up.

Based on form alone, the British Columbia Lions have to be watched. They haven’t won a championship since 2011 but a bright opening to the campaign suggests that this could be their year.

There’s some way to go before the Grey Cup can be decided but it’s interesting to get that neutral assessment as the new season starts to take shape.
