The Winnipeg Blue Bombers should be looking for retribution against Saskatchewan’s Brown. And to be clear, when I say “retribution,” I do not mean going after Saskatchewan’s quarterback with a dirty hit. However, I do mean making sure that they get after Saskatchewan’s quarterback and hit him legally as often as possible. Oh yah, and I could not fault the Bombers if they made Brown feel some pain as well – all legally of course.
My hope is not to see Saskatchewan’s quarterback injured. I do hope that the Bombers put the teams in the CFL on notice that, “If you go after our quarterback with the intent to injure, there will be not rest for your quarterback.”
If you think I am being melodramatic…maybe you need to watch the hit again. Go ahead try and defend it. Try and defend the CFL for not kicking Brown out of the game. I will not hold my breathe.
Oh, wait! Darian Durant did try to defend it! “I’m not sure, looking from the camera angle, if it was helmet-to-helmet contact,” Guess what Durrant! The Bombers still hold your rights and you will never retire as a Rider, so say what you want.
The hit was so egregious that the Bombers’ President and CEO even spoke up about it.
If you want to hear more on this discussion, Jeff Hamilton has a nice piece on it.
With all the injury talk, here is the Bombers’ injury report after their last practice before the game.
While there are some notable injuries, it should also be highlighted that Collaros is listed as “Available.” I simply just cannot wait until Rider fans say, “See, the hit was not that bad.”
The Bombers will have some significant challenges with the injuries listed above. From protecting Zach, to pressuring Harris and stopping the run, as well as kick returns. But do not think that will distract from the Bombers focus.
Yet, I can almost guarantee you that the Bombers are far more focused on winning. A win in the Banjo Bowl will not only help separate Winnipeg from Saskatchewan, but will give Winnipeg the season series over Saskatchewan – a tie breaker not likely to come into effect unless the Bombers end up tying a different game. Having said that, the Bombers already have the first tiebreaker – season series – over BC, and Calgary; and one more against Saskatchewan would be a nice insurance policy.
The Mike O’Shea way is the thought of “going 1-0 this week” is thoroughly engrained in the Bomber culture. So how do Bombers’ get their retribution against Saskatchewan? The very best way that the Bombers could get pay back is by beating Saskatchewan in front of the leagues loudest fans…Bomber fans.

The Roughriders don’t have the guns in the receiving corps to go toe-to-toe with Winnipeg. The only reason they were in the last game was because Collaros was on the sidelines. The Riders hold the rights to free agent Chase Claypool. They should make him an offer or release his rights.

I’m still trying to figure out for myself why I waste my time reading what comes out of your keyboard.
