BC Lions Mid-Season performance review

The Lions have shown flashes of great football, until the Winnipeg game, each game was either a single-digit loss or a win. Standing at 4-4, they are only 3rd in their division but have an offense and defense in the top 3 of the league.

Across the league, they are perfectly average and have gone an impressive 4-1 at home. They have shown playoff team material, but haven’t found that next step. They’ve scored 189 points and only allowed 167, which is fine. With 6 weeks left, a Semi-Final appearance isn’t entirely off the board. They’ll have to beat Winnipeg, Toronto, Hamilton, and Edmonton all back to back in order to have a shot.

Quick Hits

  • Michael Reilly has shown to be an accurate passer, completing 73% of his throws. He has a respectable 10:1 TD:INT ratio and has thrown over 2,047 yards.
  • Lucky Whitehead and Bryan Burnham are lighting up the league. Whitehead has recorded 665 yards and 4 touchdowns which compliments Burnham’s 566 yards and 3 touchdowns.
  • Bo Lokombo leads the team in turnovers with 3 ints and 2 fumble recoveries. The defense overall has been solid, recording 15 sacks, 11ints, forcing 8 fumbles and recovering 5.
  • Jimmy Camacho has been nailing 93% of his field goals, his longest on the year being a 49 yarder.

Coming back in Week 12, the BC Lions will be taking on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The kickoff is set for Saturday, October 23rd at 7:00 PM EST.
