Blue Bombers sign former NFL DB Tyrique McGhee

WINNIPEG, MB., – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have announced that the club has signed American defensive player Tyrique McGhee.

McGhee is a five-ten defensive back out of Georgia University. As a bulldog, McGhee appeared in 50 games recording 59 total tackles, 11 pass deflections, two interceptions, and two forced fumbles.

In 2020, Mchgee entered his name into the NFL Draft where he would sign with the Los Angeles Rams as an underrated free agent. McGhee would spend a year and a half on the teams’ practice squad. After violating the NFL performance-enhancing drug policy for the second time he was released from the team in 2021.

McGhee will join the extensive list of defensive backs for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and will be looking to take the field for the first time as a professional football player.
