The Winnipeg Blue Bombers seem content to let players walk.
So far the only 3 free agents the Bombers have left to try and get deals done with (at the time of writing this) are Castillo; Grant; and McCrae.
Hamilton signed O’Leary Orange, Toronto signed Exume, the Bombers released Damian Jackson, and the Bombers said they moved on from Winston Rose, Geoff Grey, and Rasheed Bailey.
It seems like Bailey would have like to have stayed with the Bombers.
Why did the Bombers move on from Gray? Bob Irving reported that the Bombers were looking to get younger at that position.
While it may look terrible, it should be noted that 18 out of 24 starters are back. Also back is the Canadian DB Tyrell Ford after seeing what might shake out for him in the NFL.
As for Ricky Walker, he remains a bit of a mystery. He was apparently going to sign with the Stampeders, but has decided to put any decision on hold for a while. Will he retire? Will he come back to the Bombers? Who knows – he might not even know.
So where does that leave the Bombers? Well Bomber fans are not going to like this, but General Manager Kyle Waters said, “We just don’t have any money. The spots that are available are going to be for training camp battles, young players, for first year players…any type of high name signing you won’t see us doing.”
That means that the job is now up to the scouting department; and they better find a kicker if they do not re-sign Castillo!
How are you feeling about free agency Bomber fans?
Are we still excited about the big signings of Schoen and Oliveira?

It’s the same with every team in the league. Everything goes in cycles, I predict that you’ll see a much improved Edmonton team (as a Stamps fan that is tough to say), but I believe it to be true. Winnipeg like most teams, will hold their own. Albeit, they may not be the powerhouse that they have been.
Watching the Winnipeg Blue Bombers navigate through free agency is keeping us on the edge of our seats! The dynamics of player retention and acquisition in the CFL always make for an intriguing offseason. Can’t wait to see how the team adapts and evolves for the upcoming season!

They kept all the key pieces on O and D. I don’t see a problem here.
