Bombers Mid-Week Check-In: Transactions & Injuries (Week 4)

Yes, it is close to the weekend, but since the Bombers play on Monday July 4th this is the mid-week check-in. With the game on Monday, today was the first day the Bombers held practice this week.

Not on the field today are Neufeld, Couture, and Demski. If those guys are not ready to go on Monday, that could be a big hit! Demski finally seemed to be hitting his stride last game! Catching 6 of 7 for 96 yards and a near touchdown when he was tackled on the 1 yard line. All of that before getting injured later in the game. Speculation is that Demski is out for the next two weeks, which could amount to three games as the Bombers play on Monday July 4, Saturday July 9, and Friday July 15. Taking Demski’s spot in practice today was Brendan O’Leary Orange.

Back on the field in practice was Winston Rose. However, Rose is not a lock for Monday’s game. After taking a few reps at his position he was replaced in practice by Demerio Huston. I suspect we are only going to know much closer to game time who starts, between the two of them. Head Coach Mike O’Shea does not like to tip his hand.

Winnipeg also made two additions to their practice roster this week, signing two offensive linemen. Does this suggest that someone else is hurt? Are they just taking a look? Well we do not know. What we do know is that the two offensive linemen Ryan Nelson and Tyler Witt, are now on the practice roster.

Make sure to check back closer to Monday as we set up the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Toronto.
