Calgary’s Defensive Addition

The Calgary Stampeders announced they have fortified their defensive line by signing the American player Darius Hodge. This move, aimed at strengthening their defense, was made public on Monday.

From the NFL to the CFL

After participating in four NFL contests with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2021, Hodge transitioned to the Miami Dolphins before a stint with the Philadelphia Stars of the USFL in 2023. There, he contributed four tackles and a half-sack over two games, demonstrating his ongoing development and adaptability in different leagues.

Record-Setting College Career

Hodge’s collegiate career at Marshall University was marked by notable achievements over three seasons and 33 games. Amassing 116 tackles, 20.5 of which were for a loss, alongside 15.5 sacks, Hodge’s college performance also includes a single-game record of 4.5 sacks against Old Dominion. His impressive senior year earned him first-team all-Conference USA honors in 2020.
