Calgary Stampeders Signed American Wide Receiver Tyler Roberts From Coastal Carolina University

Standing at six-foot-four and weighing 200 pounds, Roberts played 23 games across two seasons at Coastal Carolina University. He recorded nine receptions for 162 yards and three touchdowns for the Chanticleers, including a career-long 47-yard catch in a 2022 game against East Carolina.

Roberts joined Coastal Carolina after spending two seasons at North Carolina Wesleyan, where he received first-team all-conference honors for the Battling Bishops in 2019. During that season, he made 29 catches for 737 yards and nine touchdowns in 10 games. Roberts graduated in December 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in communication.

In his 2021 season as a redshirt junior, Roberts played in 10 games, primarily on special teams, but also as a wide receiver. He caught two passes for 12 yards that year and was named the Academic Player of the Week on April 22, 2022. During his 2020 junior season, he did not see any game action and took a redshirt year.

Before joining Coastal Carolina, Roberts was named to the USA South All-Conference first team in 2019 as a sophomore at North Carolina Wesleyan. He led the conference in average yards per catch with 25.4 yards and ranked second in the conference in touchdowns with nine. He played in 10 games as a wide receiver, tallying 29 receptions for 737 yards and nine touchdowns. As a freshman, he recorded seven catches for 145 yards and two touchdowns.

Roberts was a multi-sport letterwinner at Jefferson High School, where he participated in football, basketball, and track. In his senior year at Jefferson in 2017, he made five catches for 38 yards.
