In a groundbreaking announcement, the Canadian Football League and the 2023 Grey Cup Festival have revealed that the upcoming CFL Awards Night will be unlike any other in its history. The event will feature a unique blend of sports, comedy, and music, culminating in a performance by two-time GRAMMY© Award-winning reggae artist Shaggy. The awards ceremony will be held at the Avalon Theatre in Fallsview Casino, Niagara Falls, on Thursday, November 16, followed by Shaggy’s concert on the OLG Stage.

Ticketing Details and Access

Fans with tickets to the CFL Awards are in for a treat, as the purchase also grants lower bowl access to Shaggy’s performance. Tickets for the award ceremony are now available, starting at a price of $139. For those looking for an elevated experience, a limited number of VIP floor tickets are also on offer. For Shaggy aficionados interested solely in the concert, tickets will be available starting Saturday, October 28.

The Hosts and the Guest Artists

Adding another layer of entertainment to the evening will be K. Trevor Wilson, the Canadian comedian best known for his role as Squirrely Dan on the Crave original series Letterkenny. He will join Kate Beirness, the host of the CFL on TSN, as co-hosts for the awards segment. Wilson is no stranger to the stage, having been honored with several awards and making numerous appearances on shows like Jimmy Kimmel Live and Comedy Central’s Roast Battles.

Legends and Line-Up

This year’s event is also set to feature an array of CFL and Tiger-Cats legends, not just in the award ceremony but also in the audience for Shaggy’s concert. This melding of sports and music does not end here; the 2023 Grey Cup Festival has also roped in country superstar Carrie Underwood and punk rock legends Green Day for performances later in the week.

Connectivity and Accommodations

For fans eager to partake in the festivities across Hamilton and Niagara Falls, free transportation will be available, courtesy of a partnership between the 2023 Grey Cup Festival and the Ontario government.

From football heroes to legendary musicians, the CFL Awards Night 2023 is shaping up to be an unparalleled event in both its scope and offerings. Those interested in soaking up the entire experience, from sports to comedy to music, have a plethora of options to choose from. All in all, this year’s festival promises an amalgamation of Canadian culture like never before.

Why are the awards not televised either on TSN or the Sports Channel. The CFL wants to promote itself but do a crappy job of bragging about its player.
    Sad crappy marketing.
