CFL Score: Montreal Alouettes Dominate Hamilton Tiger-Cats, 38-12

In an electrifying showdown between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Montreal Alouettes, the Roughriders emerged victorious with a 27-16 win. Quarterback Cody Fajardo proved instrumental in securing the victory, contributing significantly both in the air and on the ground.

Montreal Alouettes Performance

The Alouettes’ offense demonstrated lethal efficiency, led by the undeniable star of the game, quarterback Cody Fajardo. Fajardo completed 19 of his 25 pass attempts, amassing 292 yards with an impressive average of 11.7 yards per throw. His display of precision passing resulted in two touchdowns, proving pivotal in the Riders’ triumph. Additionally, Fajardo contributed on the ground, rushing for 11 yards on four attempts and scoring a critical touchdown.

As for the receiving corps, Austin Mack shined with 81 yards on five receptions, scoring twice. But it was not only Mack who made waves in the passing game; Kian Schaffer-Baker also made significant contributions with 94 yards on six receptions.

On the defensive side, defensive tackle Micah Johnson stood out with two sacks, applying consistent pressure on the Tiger-Cats’ QB. Kabion Ento also put in notable performances, with eight tackles.

Kicker Dillon Cote was perfect on the day, hitting his lone field goal attempt from 14 yards out.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats Performance

Despite the loss, the Tiger-Cats showed signs of resilience. Quarterback Matthew Shiltz, despite throwing two interceptions, racked up a whopping 345 passing yards, completing 25 of his 47 attempts. His favorite target was Tim White, who finished the game with a noteworthy 143 yards on seven receptions.

The Ticats didn’t have much of a running game. Running back James Butler rushed for 14 yards on five carries.

Defensively, linebacker Malik Carney made his presence felt with seven tackles and a sack.

Kicker Marc Liegghio had an exceptional game, going 4-for-4 on field goal attempts, with his longest being a 44-yarder.

The game showcased a resilient Alouettes team that capitalized on their opportunities. Fajardo’s stellar performance, both through the air and on the ground, was the game-changer. Meanwhile, the Ticats, despite their efforts, were unable to overcome the Alouettes’ defense and the punishing blows dealt by Fajardo.
