Toronto Argonauts Performance:
The Argonauts’ offense was firing on all cylinders, led by quarterback Chad Kelly’s stellar performance. Kelly completed 21 of 26 passes for 331 yards and 3 touchdowns, while also contributing 25 rushing yards and a score on the ground. Toronto’s balanced attack kept the Redblacks’ defense off-balance for most of the game.
Despite the loss, the Redblacks showed incredible resilience in their fourth-quarter comeback attempt. Quarterback Dru Brown had an outstanding game, throwing for 400 yards and 4 touchdowns. However, Ottawa’s slow start proved too much to overcome against a strong Toronto team.
Top Defensive Players: • Jovan Santos-Knox: LB – 8 tackles • Frankie Griffin: LB – 5 tackles • Aidan John: DL – 5 tackles, 1 sack • Damon Webb: DB – 5 tackles • Bennett Williams: DB – 5 tackles
The win keeps Toronto firmly in second place in the East Division with a 10-7 record, trailing only the Montreal Alouettes (12-3). Ottawa’s loss drops them to 8-8, still in the playoff hunt but now facing an uphill battle in the competitive division. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats round out the East at 7-10.
The Argonauts and Redblacks will face each other again on Saturday, November 2 at BMO Field for the East Semi-Final.
