In a strategic move for their defense lineup, Edmonton’s Elks have successfully renewed linebacker Tony Jones for an additional season. This decision underscores the team’s commitment to strengthening their roster with experienced players as they prepare for future challenges.

Jones’ Impactful 2023 Season

Last season, Tony Jones emerged as a vital asset for the Elks, participating in every regular-season game and starting in four as linebacker. Before his entry into the Canadian league, Tony proved his mettle by earning accolades in the Indoor Football League as a member of the Iowa Barnstormers. His college years at Texas Tech from 2017 to 2018 were equally commendable, where he accumulated 77 tackles, eight sacks, and even snagged one interception across 24 games.
