Prukop returns to the Green & Gold

Sunday, the Elks quarterback room got more experience as the team signed Quarterback Dakota Prukop to the active roster.

This is the second time in Edmonton for Prukop, as the regarded short-yard specialist rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns in 12 appearances with the Elks in 2021. Formerly of the Argonauts and the Blue Bombers, Prukop was released by the BC Lions on May 27.

Elks bring back Faithfull and three others

The team added four players to its practice roster Sunday. Global kicker Dean Faithful, Running back Jermaine Brown, Jr., linebacker Reynard Ellis, and wide receiver Arkell Smith were signed by the Elks after being released the previous day as part of the league cutdown deadline.

Faithfull appeared in all 18 games with the Elks last season, connected on a 78.6% field goal success rate (22-for-28).

Roster cutdown

Saturday was a tough day for the Elks and all eight other CFL clubs, as they trimmed their rosters before the league-mandated deadline.

To make room for the 46-man roster, the Elks released 29 players and added six to the practice roster and one to the suspension list. For the entire list of players released Saturday, click on the link below.
