During the last month, the overwhelming topic of discussion among CFL fans has been the delayed release of the 2025 CFL schedule. Earlier this week, there were clues on social media that the schedule would be released soon. Luckily for Tiger-Cats fans, the near future meant this week.
The Tiger-Cats 2025 schedule shows the path that Hamilton will have to travel in an effort to climb back into a position to be a contender in the CFL, specifically in the CFL East division. Along with the schedule, the Tiger-Cats tweeted a link to purchasing tickets for games this season.
A few general highlights of the CFL 2025 schedule include the start of the CFL regular season on June 5th. Also, the CFL decided not to hold a Touchdown Atlantic game this season. In addition to the regular season schedule, the CFL has also released the complete pre-season game schedule.
Tiger-Cats Pre-Season Schedule
During the Tiger-Cats pre-season, Hamilton will have a double dose of rivalry with their division rival, the Toronto Argonauts. While the pre-season games do not count towards the Tiger-Cats regular season record, the games should bring an intensity level similar to a regular season game due to the rivalry between the two teams. The first of those games will have the Argonauts visiting the Tiger-Cats on Saturday, May 25th at 7:00 pm EST, and the second of those games have the Tiger-Cats traveling to the Argonauts on Friday, May 30th at 7:00 pm EST.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats Regular Season Schedule
Week 1: Saturday, June 7th, 2025 at 7:00 pm EST, Hamilton Tiger-Cats @ Calgary Stampeders
For the second consecutive season, the Tiger-Cats will open their season on the road against the Calgary Stampeders. Both teams missed the playoffs in 2024, and this game could be an essential opportunity to build early momentum for these teams looking for a bounce-back season. Hamilton will need to come to Calgary ready to play their best football to reverse the recent trend of a slow start to their season.
Week 2: Saturday, June 14th at 7:00 pm EST, Saskatchewan Roughriders @ Hamilton Tiger-Cats
The Tiger-Catsβ home opener for the 2025 season will be against another West division opponent when the Saskatchewan Roughriders come to the Hammer. Last season, the Roughriders had a fast start, including back-to-back wins against Hamilton. Against the Roughriders, Hamiltonβs run defence will go a long way to determining the outcome of this game, and they will need to win that matchup if they want to pick up a big home win early in the 2025 season.
Week 3: BYE
Week 4: Friday, June 27th at 7:30 pm EST, Montreal Alouettes @ Hamilton Tiger-Cats
In Week 4, the Tiger-Cats will face their first division opponent against, the Alouettes. The Alouettes will bring Hamilton an explosive offence and a decisive running game. The Tiger-Cats will need to play great football on offence and defence to establish themselves as an early contender in the East division in 2025.
Week 5: Friday, July 4th at 7:30 pm EST, Hamilton Tiger-Cats @ Toronto Argonauts
Hamilton will need to carry whatever momentum they have after the first couple of weeks of the season into their road game at Toronto. This game is sure to be hard-fought and will most likely be determined by the team that is most efficient on the offensive side of the ball. The Tiger-Catsβ defence will need to be able to stop the run from giving themselves a chance to create turnovers against the Argonauts.
Week 6: Saturday, July 12th at 7:00 pm EST, Ottawa Redblacks @ Hamilton Tiger-Cats
The Tiger-Cats will face another division rival for the third week in a row when the Redblacks come to the Hammer. Hamilton must come out ready to defend their turf and pick up a division win if they want to keep this close in the East division. This game could go along with determining whether the Tiger-Cats or the Redblacks will be a legitimate contender in the East.
Week 7: Sunday, July 20th at 7:00 pm EST, Hamilton Tiger-Cats @ Ottawa Redblacks
No matter what the outcome of the Tiger-Cats Week 6 matchup against the Redblacks in Hamilton is, the Tiger-Cats will need to get a big division win on the road in Ottawa. Ottawa and Hamilton will both be angling for momentum as both teams approach the midpoint of the season. If Hamilton can win this home and away series, they have a good chance to put themselves in front of the Redblacks in the standings.
Week 8: Sunday, July 27th at 7:00 pm EST, Hamilton Tiger-Cats @ BC Lions
Hamilton must be ready to face an explosive offence when they travel to BC. During the last three seasons, the Lions have established themselves as a contender in the West division. Despite the Lionβs recent success, the Tiger-Cat has played well in Vancouver, and if they can pick up a big road win against a West Division team, it will give them a big boost heading into August.
Week 9: Saturday, October 2nd at 3:00 pm EST, Hamilton Tiger-Cats @ Edmonton Elks
During recent seasons, the Tiger-Cats and Elks have struggled to maintain momentum during the first half of the season. This game could be a significant factor in whether or not the Tiger-Cats can end the first half of the season with a winning record. While both teams have struggled in recent seasons, winning in Week 9 will be necessary.
Week 10: Thursday, July 8th at 7:30 pm EST, BC Lions @ Hamilton Tiger-Cats
The second matchup between the Lions and Tiger-Cats should be another exciting, hard-fought game. Last season, each team beat the other on the road. Hamilton will need to find a way to win these games if it intends to compete at a championship level in 2025.
Week 11: Saturday, July 16th at 3:00 pm EST, Hamilton Tiger-Cats @ Saskatchewan Roughriders
To start the second 2025 season, the Tiger-Cats will face their fourth consecutive West division opponent. The Tiger-Cats must travel to Saskatchewan to pick up a key win in a challenging atmosphere. Once again, Hamilton will need to be able to stop the Roughriderβs strong running game if they want to pick up a key road win.
Week 12: BYE
Week 13: Monday, September 1st at 2:30 pm EST, Toronto Argonauts @ Hamilton Tiger-Cats
No matter what the Tiger-Cats and Argonauts records are at this time of the season, the Hamilton vs. Toronto matchup is a guaranteed battle during the Labour Day Classic game. This game will be necessary for both teams, and getting this win will put the winner in a position to build momentum and head toward the CFL playoffs.
Week 14: Saturday, September 6th at 1:00 pm EST, Hamilton Tiger-Cats @ Montreal Alouettes
This game will be a difficult matchup for the Tiger-Cats as they head on the road to face a formidable division rival after a very short week. In addition, the Tiger-Catβs health will be a key factor in how well Hamilton can compete in this game. This game will be a big test for the Tiger-Cats team, and how they handle this situation will be a defining moment down the stretch.
Week 15: Friday, September 12th at 7:00 pm EST, Winnipeg Blue Bombers @ Hamilton Tiger-Cats
Week 15 will feature the only regular season between the Tiger-Cats and Blue Bombers during the 2025 CFL regular season. Hamilton will have a home-field advantage over the Blue Bombers, and the Tiger-Cats must make that advantage pay off. In 2024, the Tiger-Cats picked up a win on the road against Winnipeg, and repeating that effort at home could be a key factor for a Hamilton team trying to get back to the playoffs.
Week 16: Saturday, September 20th at 7:00 pm EST, Edmonton Elks @ Hamilton Tiger-Cats
Stacking wins against the West division could be a significant achievement for the Tiger-Cats in the second half of the season. If Hamilton can pick up a home win against Winnipeg, the Tiger-Cats should get another win at home against the Elks.
Week 17: Saturday, September 27th at 3:00 pm EST, Hamilton Tiger-Cats @ Toronto Argonauts
The final third of the 2025 season features a pair of road trips to Toronto during back-to-back weeks. Hamilton must win at least one of these games on the road against the Argonauts. Winning this game would be huge for the Tiger-Cats.
Week 18: Saturday, October 4th at 3:00 pm EST, Hamilton Tiger-Cats @ Toronto Argonauts
Traveling to Toronto for a second week in a row will be a big challenge for the Tiger-Cats. If they can pick up a key win during Week 17, then getting back-to-back wins will be a big deal in the division. If they happen to lose both games, it will be a potential disaster for the Tiger-Cats and their bid to return to the playoffs in 2025.
Week 19: Saturday, October 11th at 3:00 pm EST, Calgary Stampeders @ Hamilton Tiger-Cats
This Thanksgiving Week matchup will feature two teams trying to earn their way back into a playoff position. These teams are deeply familiar foes, as Bo Levi Mitchell faces the team with which he spent his CFL career before coming to Hamilton. Winning this game will be a big deal for both teams and fanbases late in the 2025 season.
Week 20: BYE
Week 21: Friday, October 24th at 7:00 pm EST, Ottawa Redblacks @ Hamilton Tiger-Cats
The Tiger-Cats will close their 2025 season with one more division game. This matchup between the Redblacks and Tiger-Cats could be a preview of a potential playoff matchup. Hamilton will hope to be in a position to rest their starters as they prepare for a playoff run, but if these do not go well in 2025, this could be one last battle for pride in front of the Tiger-Cats fans.
