Tiger-Cats Get Quick Start to the Off-Season by Adding WR OJ Hiliare and Re-Signing QB Frost

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are getting a fast start this off-season after finishing the 2024 season with a disappointing 7-11 record and failing to make the CFL playoffs during head coach Scott Milanovich’s first season leading the Tiger-Cats. This CFL Transactions list shows that the Tiger-Cats have re-signed backup quarterback Harrison Frost to their active roster and have also signed American wide receiver OJ Hiliare.

OJ Hiliare is the latest wide receiver to join the Tiger-Cats receiver room loaded with playmakers in 2024, including Tim White, Steven Dunbar Jr., Shemar Bridges, and Kiondre Smith. Hiliare comes to the CFL after spending some of the 2024 NFL season with the Atlanta Falcons. Joining the Hamilton Tiger-Cats roster will allow Hilaire to demonstrate his skill set to play receiver professionally.

The 6″0″, 185-pound Hiliare is a native of Belle Glade, Florida. He started his college football career at NCAA FCS Alabama A&M from 2019 until 2021, where he played in 24 games and caught 102 passes for 1,365 yards, including 13 touchdown receptions. After the 2021 season, Hiliare transferred to NCAA FBS Bowling Green State University, where he played in 26 games over the span of two seasons. While playing for the Falcons, he caught 104 passes for 1,295 yards and ten touchdown passes.

The Tiger-Cats also re-signed backup quarterback Harrison Frost earlier this week. During the 2024 season, Frost completed 8 out of 12 passes thrown for 95 yards and a touchdown for the Tiger-Cats. Before coming to Hamilton, Frost spent time with the Seattle Sea Dragons during the 2023 XFL season. Frost played college football at NCAA FCS Mercer University from 2017 until 2020, where he played in 28 games and completed 87 out of 169 passes for 1,044 yards, nine touchdowns, and eight interceptions. In 2021, Frost transferred to NCAA Division II University of West Georgia, completing 548 out of 880 pass attempts, resulting in 6,730 yards, 50 touchdowns, and only 18 interceptions.
