Roughriders Sign Canadian Cover Man Katley Joseph

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed University of Saskatchewan defensive back Katley Joseph.

The Ottawa, Ontario native will not have to travel far to his new team following two standout seasons at the University of Saskatchewan. Joseph recorded 52 tackles (including two tackles for loss), 16 pass deflections, four interceptions, and two forced fumbles over 19 games as a Huskie. The five-foot-ten, 190-pound defender was named a Canada West All-Star in both of his two seasons in Saskatoon, as well as being named a First-team All-Canadian last year.

Before moving to the land of the living skies, Joseph played two seasons at the University of Maine. The cover man tallied 69 tackles (including four tackles for loss), 20 pass deflections, and one interception over 24 games as a Black Bear. Also, in his first season, he was named to the FCS All-American Freshman team in 2018.

Joseph went unselected in the 2022 CFL draft and will now join Canadians Jayden Dalke, Jaxon Ford, Nelson Lokombo, Godfrey Onyeka, and Kosi Onyeka in the defensive backfield.
