Rourke, McManis and Rhymes Named August CFL Top Performers

TORONTO (August 31, 2022) – Nathan Rourke, Wynton McManis and Dominique Rhymes are the Canadian Football League (CFL)’s Top Performers for August of the 2022 season. The selections include all appearances from Weeks 9 to 12.

The three players were chosen by a panel of judges made up of Matt Dunigan and Marshall Ferguson of TSN, and Pierre Vercheval of RDS, who independently send their selections to the CFL league office.

QB | NATHAN ROURKE | BC LIONS

  • 95 of 120 (79.2 per cent) passing in the three games he started
  • 1,340 passing yards with nine touchdown passes
  • Added 96 rushing yards (8.0 per carry) and scored three rushing touchdowns
  • Three games with more than 300 passing yards, including two games with 400+ yards
  • Recorded multiple touchdowns each game and passed for five in Week 9 against Edmonton
  • Top Performer of the Week twice in August (Weeks 9 and 10)
  • Leads the league in passing yards (3,281) and passing touchdowns (25)
  • His completion percentage (79.2 per cent) and efficiency rate (125.1) are the new standards for CFL passing (minimum 250 attempts)

  • Registered 33 defensive tackles in four games
  • Added three special teams tackles, a sack and a forced fumble
  • Recorded two games with 10+ tackles
  • Leads the league in tackles (69) and defensive plays (85)

  • 27 receptions for 402 yards in four games
  • Caught four touchdown passes, including three in Week 9
  • Averaged 14.9 yards per reception
  • 10 second down conversion receptions
  • Week 9 Top Performer
  • Leads the league in receiving yards (893) and touchdown catches (nine)
