3 Key Points:

  • Roughriders acquire national talent with Zerr signing
  • American players Brammer and Bunton join Saskatchewan
  • Noah Zerr brings a successful university career to the Riders

Saskatchewan Roughriders Welcome Noah Zerr to Offensive Line

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have fortified their offensive line by acquiring national talent, Noah Zerr. Standing at six-foot-seven and weighing 330 pounds, Zerr most recently played for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the 2023 season. In his professional debut with the BC Lions, he made four game appearances, following his 12th overall pick in the 2022 CFL Draft.

Impressive Collegiate Career behind Zerr

Zerr’s football journey began in his home province, excelling at the University of Saskatchewan for five seasons and participating in 41 games as a dominant left tackle. His collegiate career was highlighted by a Hardy Cup victory and a Uteck Bowl win in 2021. Zerr’s exceptional play also garnered individual accolades, including U SPORTS First-Team All-Canadian and Canada West All-Star honours.

New American Talent: Brammer and Bunton

The Roughriders’ roster additions also include American offensive lineman Jacob Brammer and wide receiver O’Joshua Bunton. Brammer’s background features a robust collegiate record at Vanderbilt and the University of North Texas, where he contributed significantly to his teams’ offensive lines. In contrast, Bunton, a stand-out at Lane College, brings versatility and explosive playmaking ability, evidenced by his noteworthy statistical achievements in college football and track and field.

Riders Strengthen Both Protection and Playmaking

The Roughriders’ recent signings are a strategic move to enhance their offensive capabilities. Brammer’s experience as a reliable right tackle is expected to strengthen the team’s pass protection, while Bunton’s speed and receiving prowess offer potential for dynamic plays on the field. These acquisitions are pivotal as the team prepares for the upcoming CFL season, aiming to build a formidable and competitive roster.
