Saskatchewan Roughriders Ink American Defensive Back Holton Hill

The Green and White continue to add to their training camp roster, signing former Minnesota Vikings cover man Holton Hill.

The 6-foot-2, 196-pound cornerback signed with Minnesota as an undrafted free agent in 2018. Despite this, Hill found a way to contribute. Across 26 career NFL games, the man nicknamed “Hollywood” collected 73 tackles (one tackle for loss), seven pass deflections, one interception, one sack, and one fumble recovery. Hill also spent time with the Indianapolis Colts, Dallas Cowboys, and the Cincinnati Bengals along with the Vikings.

Collegiately, the 26-year-old spent three seasons at the University of Texas. He amassed 121 tackles (one tackle for loss), 14 pass deflections, one fumble recovery, and one forced fumble. Interestingly, Hill snagged three career interceptions and returned every single one for a touchdown. Also, as a true freshman he earned an All-Big 12 honorable mention.

Hill joins Mark Fields II, Cole Coleman, Nick Nelson, C.J. Coldon, and Marcus Murphy as American defensive backs who have joined the training camp roster fighting for a spot on the squad come June.
