Streveler Out – Bombers Bring In Replacements

The reality of the situation is there there is no way that you really replace a guy like Chris Streveler. However, the Bombers are forced to bring in somebody that will take a quarterback place on the roster.

Chris Streveler tore 3 ligaments in his knee and it would appear that his season is over. While Streveler is young enough to recover and play football again, the Bombers need to fill that hole now.

So the Bombers have brought in Bryan Scott from Toroonto.

Wait, who? This is not the Prukop signing that people were speculating about. No, this is Bryan Scott a little known quarterback in the CFL. And while Scott may not be well known, here is what Pickett said about Scott on August 20 on a social post, “Since Bryan Scott stepped foot on the field at practice in 2023 he was a starting quarterback…in his only regular season action he went 5/5 and a TD.”

Here is some more on Scott:

*In the 2023 preseason he had the second best passing percentage out of quarterbacks that threw 10 passes.

*In the 2024 preseason he was second in passing yards, and had the best yards per attempt. He also threw the longest touchdown strike of 82 yards.

I have no clue how he will do, but that warrants a look.

Yet, the Bombers did not stop there. They also brought in Jake Dolegala.

So the question will be, which 2 of 3 win jobs…because it looks like Bombers’ quarterback Wilson may not be safe. This season Dolegala dressed for nine games with the BC Lions. After Vernon Adams got injured, Scott got a chance to start. He threw for 158 yards, and went 15 for 26 in his two appearances. However, after Nathan Rourke returned, Scott found himself on the outside looking in and was released.

In the Banjo Bowl, Wilson did not throw the ball once. He rushed 3 times for 6 yards. If the Bombers find that either Dolegala or Scott are better passers than Wilson, Wilson may find himself with an apple and a roadmap.

If there is any good news for the Bombers it is that they are on a bye week.

So who do you think the Bombers should have targeted as another quarterback? Which 2 of the three (Wilson, Scott, Dolegala) do you think stays…maybe you think only 1 of the 3 stays and the Bombers go back to shopping around.

What do you think? Let me know in the comments section wherever you are reading this.
