Düsseldorf Making Moves, Planning for 2022 Season

One of the new teams in the European League of Football, the Düsseldorf Rhein Fire, are already making moves for their 1st season in the young league. Number 1, naming Patricia Kemm their general manager.

“At the moment I can still not believe it. But I am more than happy that I got this amazing opportunity. When Martin called me and told me all about it, I was super excited. Memories have come up. My first ever football game was the World Bowl 2005. It was there that I encountered Rhein Fire for the first time as I was gifted a fan jersey”.

The next step in this offseason is finding a venue.

“Here, we are currently in close coordination with D.LIVE and the city of Düsseldorf. For us, a dream would come true playing at MERKUR SPIEL Arena. We are confident that we can offer our fans the best possible game day experience no matter where it will be in the end.”

Rhein Fire shouldn’t be an unknown name to fans. They were part of NFL Europe. Despite not being in the ELF for its 1st season, when it was announced at halftime of the final who the expansion team would be, all 22,000 fan roared.

It’s an exciting time for the sport. The Vienna Vikings, Swarco Raiders, and now Düsseldorf Rhein Fire will be joining the ELF in 2022.

Plus, she’s the 2nd female GM in the league next to Berlin Thunder’s Diana Hoge.

“It really makes me proud. There are so many talented women who are currently receiving far too few opportunities in this sport. I would be happy to create an opportunity to give other women access to this league. Whether in the front office or as coaches.”

The next step in creating a winning franchise is building the coaching and training infrastructure. They’re currently talking to candidates, and building a medical facility as we speak.

Announcements will be soon, and the player search will follow shortly after.

Kemm became a fan of the sport because of her brother, Mathias. She ended the interview with words for him:

“Thanks to my brother Mathias Klemm who made me immerse myself in this sport so intensely to get this opportunity. A big thanks also goes to the shareholders who give me the confidence to exercise this position”.
