Vienna Vikings Announce Generali Arena As Home Field For 2022

The Vienna Vikings have announced that Generali Arena, located in Vienna, will serve as the team’s home stadium for the 2022 season.

Viking’s president and CEO Karl Wurm commented on the team finding their home for the season, stating,

“I’m extremely happy that we found our home field for the first season in the European League of Football, the Generali Arena was our top choice from the beginning on. Today, we take an important step for everyone whose hearts bleed purple, but also for Austrian football and our beautiful city of Vienna!”

The Arena was initially built in 1925 but was restructured in 2008, and again from 2016 to 2018. Since the latest restructure, the stadium currently holds roughly 17,500 fans.

ELF Announces Schedule For 2022 Season

The Schedule for the 2022 season has officially been updated on the European League of Football’s website. The season’s first game kicks off on Saturday, June 4th, 2022, at 9 AM PST and will feature the Istanbul Rams matched up against the Cologne Centurions.

The Leipzig Kings have made a big-time signing this week with the addition of former Hamburg Sea Devils outside linebacker Jan-Phillip Bombek.

The former Colorado State Ram ended the European League of Football’s inaugural season with the 2nd most sacks in the league (11) despite only playing in 7 of the 10 regular-season games. Bombek also racked up 37 total tackles and 17 tackles for loss with Hamburg.

Leipzig Kings head coach Fred Armstrong commented on the addition of Bombek, stating,

“I love his competitive attitude and [the] swag he plays with and after our private talks, I know Kings fans are going to embrace him. He is a wrecking machine on defense and [I’m] glad he is a King”.


The Berlin Thunder have signed NFL International Combine Attendee Connor Bolton for 2022.

Bolton has played for 2 other European franchises outside of the European League of Football, including the Madstone Pumas and the London Warriors. Berlin Thunder head coach Johnny Schmuck commented on the addition of his new offensive lineman, stating,

“We are excited to have signed Connor [Bolton]. Although he is young, he is already a really good athlete and a really good football player which got him invited to the NFL International Combine last year”

Leipzig Kings Announce Moritz Heisler As New Co-Owner

The Leipzig Kings have announced that the Head of Intercontinental Supply Chain Solutions Europe, Moritz Heisler, is now a co-owner of the team. Heisler has a degree in logistics and supply chain management and wants to help the Kings become a better franchise in all areas. Additionally, Heizler looks to strengthen the development of American football throughout the Leipzig region.

Moritz Heisler is excited to join the Leipzig Kings journey in the European League of Football and commented on his new position as co-owner, stating,

“American football is experiencing unprecedented hype in Germany and the Leipzig Kings showed in the 2021 premiere season that something big is growing here,”

Heisler continued,

“We want to be the best organization on and off the field, This includes the further athletic development of the team and American football in the Leipzig region, building a sustainable, continuous and diversified structure. “

Navigating the European League of Football will be nothing new for Heisler, who spent the inaugural season involved in the operational management of the Hamburg Sea Devils.
