
The BC Lions drafted wide receiver Nate DeMontagnac seventh overall in the CFL Draft on Tuesday with their round 1 selection, who played the last four seasons with the North Dakota Fighting Hawks. The Lions selected two defensive backs, two wide receivers, an offensive lineman, a linebacker, and a defensive lineman.
On Wednesday, the Lions added punter Brett Thorson and tight end Seydou Traore in the CFL Global Draft.

Round 1 (7th overall) WR Nate DeMontagnac – North Dakota (6’3, 195 lbs.)
The BC Lions drafted wide receiver Nate DeMontagnac with their first-round pick of the CFL Draft, 7th overall. He played in 40 games over his 4 seasons with the North Dakota Fighting Hawks, recording 64 receptions for 775 yards and 4 touchdowns. He had 38 catches for 462 yards and 2 touchdowns over 14 games last season.
At his pro day, he recorded a 4.56-second 40-yard dash, a 6.91-second 3-cone drill, a 4.22-second shuttle, 10 reps on the bench press, a 33.5-inch vertical, and a 10’2 broad jump.

Round 2 (15th overall) DB Jett Elad – Rutgers (6’1, 205 lbs.)
Jett Elad played his final season of NCAA football with Rutgers in 2025, which saw him record 80 total tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 2 interceptions, 3 passes defended, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. He was an Honorable Mention All-Big Ten by the coaches.
He played at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2023 and 2024, where he recorded 141 total tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, a sack, an interception, 13 passes defended, and 2 fumble recoveries over 27 games with 16 starts. He was an Honorable Mention All-Mountain West in 2024
Elad played at the Juco level in 2022 with Garden City (KS), where he made 31 total tackles and had 6 pass breakups over 10 games.
He began his career with the Ohio Bobcats, where he appeared in 13 games with 5 starts from 2019 through 2021, recording 11 solo tackles, 2 interceptions, and 4 passes defended.
Elad did not participate in his school’s pro day due to a hernia injury.
Round 4 (36th overall) DB Pierre Kemeni – Ohio (6’1, 214 lbs.)
Pierre Kemeni dressed in 34 games at the FBS level for 3 different teams. He played for Ohio in 2020 and 2021, Texas State in 2022, New Mexico in 2024, and Ohio again in 2025. He recorded 15 solo tackles and 9 assisted tackles at the FBS level. He played for Garden City (KS) at the Juco level in 2023, where he made 19 total tackles and an interception over 6 games.
At his pro day, he recorded a 4.63-second 40-yard dash, a 7.19-second 3-cone drill, a 4.25-second shuttle, 17 reps on the bench press, a 34.5-inch vertical, and a 10’3 broad jump.
Kemeni is the cousin of fellow Lions pick Jett Elad.
Round 5 (45th overall) WR Nick Cenacle – Hawaii (6’2, 199 lbs.)
Nick Cenacle played 4 seasons with Hawaii, appearing in 44 games. He recorded 122 receptions for 1,295 yards and 9 touchdowns with the program. 2024 saw him record 63 catches for 721 yards and 6 touchdowns. He played in 8 games this past season, making 28 catches for 223 yards and 2 touchdowns, missing 5 games to injury.
He finished his career on a high note as he caught a 22-yard game-winning touchdown with 10 seconds left in the Hawaii Bowl win over California.
At the CFL Combine, he recorded a 4.79-second 40-yard dash, a 6.85-second 3-cone drill, and a 4.34-second shuttle.
Round 6 (54th overall) OL Ethan Graham – Regina (6’7, 315 lbs.)
Etham Graham played in 32 games for the Regina Rams and emerged as the starting left tackle this past season. He was named a Canada West All-Star in 2025. He caught a touchdown pass in 2023 against Manitoba, becoming the second offensive lineman in the program’s history to do so.
At the CFL Combine, he recorded 20 bench reps, a 5.36-second 40-yard dash, a 25-inch vertical, an 8’9 1/4” broad jump, an 8.1-second 3-cone drill, and a 5.13-second shuttle.
Round 7 (63rd overall) LB Chase Henning – UBC (6’2, 215 lbs.)
Chase Henning played the last 3 seasons with UBC, where he amassed 101 total tackles (39 solo, 62 assisted), including 3.5 tackles for loss, a sack, and a forced fumble. Last season, he had 43 total tackles and 2 tackles for loss over 8 games.
Round 8 (72nd overall) DL Ebenezer Dibula – Kennesaw State (6’3, 300 lbs.)
Ebenezer Dibula played for Kennesaw State in 2025, where he played in 6 games, recording 14 solo tackles, 49 assisted tackles, and 3.5 sacks. He played for Bethune-Cookman in 2023 and 2024, appearing in 19 games with 9 starts and recording 12 solo tackles, 45 assisted tackles, and 2.5 sacks.
He played for Minnesota St C&T in 2022 at the Juco level in 2022. He played his first season of collegiate football with Bethune-Cookman in 2021, where he appeared in 3 games and recorded 2 solo tackles, 4 assisted tackles, and a sack.
At the CFL Combine, he recorded 24 bench reps, a 4.9-second 40-yard dash, a 29-inch vertical, an 8’7 3/4” broad jump, a 7.84-second 3-cone drill, and a 4.9-second shuttle.
The Lions also announced on Tuesday two territorial junior players to be joining their training camp roster:
OL Kaiden Kerntopf, Okanagan Sun (6’4, 325 lbs.)
A 2-time CJFL All-Canadian and BCFC All-Star who was a part of the Sun’s 10- record last season, who had a strong tryout with the team in Langley.
WR Colton Meikle, Kamloops Broncos (6’4, 210 lbs.)
Last season, he caught 12 passes with the Broncos for 98 yards and a touchdown over 4 games. Will attend his third consecutive Lions training camp with his hometown team.
Global Draft Round 1 (7th overall) P Brett Thorson – Georgia (6’2, 235 lbs)
The Lions selected punter Brett Thorson in the first round of the Global Draft, 7th overall. The Melbourne, Australia native recently signed with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent after a standout four-year career with the University of Georgia. Along with winning a national championship in 2022, Thorson had 156 punts for 7,115 yards (45.6-yard average) over 52 games with the Bulldogs. He was named Associated Press All-America second-team in 2024 and 2025. He was the winner of the Ray Guy Award as college football’s top punter in his senior season.
Global Draft Round 2 (16th overall) TE Seydou Traore – Mississippi State (6’4, 235 lbs.)
In the second round of the Global Draft, the Lions selected tight end Seydou Traore 16th overall. Traore was born in France and raised in London, England. He was selected in the fifth round (180th overall) by the Miami Dolphins in the NFL Draft.
Traore started his college football career with Arkansas, where he played in 23 games with 13 starts over the 2021 and 2022 seasons, recording 62 receptions for 655 yards and 4 touchdowns. He played in 25 games with 24 starts for Mississippi State with 69 receptions for 735 yards and 6 touchdowns over the 2024 and 2025 seasons. He had to sit out the 2023 season due to it being his 2nd transfer as an undergraduate, transferring from Colorado after spring practices.
