CFL Joins Global Sports Leagues for Sixth Collision Sport Meeting on Athlete Health

On December 5, 2023, medical representatives from world-renowned sports leagues convened in New York City for a pivotal discussion. Among the attendees were experts from the Canadian Football League (CFL), Australian Football League (AFL), International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), National Football League (NFL), National Hockey League (NHL), National Rugby League (NRL), and World Rugby (WR).

This assembly marked the sixth International Collision Sport Group Meeting, a forum designed specifically to tackle health and safety measures in sports.

During the two-day event, hosted at the NFL’s headquarters, medical front-runners exchanged valuable insights on a range of critical issues, spotlighting concussion identification, management, and reduction. Another focal point was the advancement of protective gear, which plays a significant role in curbing injuries. Attendees also delved into the realms of sports science and injury prevention, scrutinizing strategies to measure head contact and reinforcing emergency preparedness.
