CFL Preseason Schedule: Games on TV Today, Argonauts vs Tiger-Cats, Blue Bombers vs Elks, Lions vs Roughriders, Odds (Saturday, May 27, 2023)

As we approach the second week of the Canadian Football League’s 2023 preseason, Saturday’s line-up promises to be thrilling with three games on the agenda.

For those wondering, “What football games are on today?“, here’s your answer to CFL games on today:

Toronto Argonauts at Hamilton Tiger-Cats

  • Location: Tim Hortons Field, Hamilton
  • Game Date: Saturday, May 27
  • Time: 4:00 PM EDT
  • Streaming: CFL Preseason Live
  • Odds: TBD

Starting off the day, we have the Toronto Argonauts facing the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. The Argonauts are in a peculiar situation as they evaluate their backup quarterbacks, given the uncertainty about Chad Kelly’s potential as a franchise quarterback.

Toronto needs to take a hard look at Ben Holmes and their two newcomers. On the other side, the Tiger-Cats may be considering the potential of Taylor Powell as a future prospect if Bo Levi Mitchell’s shoulder injuries continue to limit him. The Tiger-Cats’ defensive secondary is also a point of interest, with some new faces aiming to replace key players lost last season.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Edmonton Elks

  • Location: Commonwealth Stadium, Edmonton
  • Game Date: Saturday, May 27
  • Time: 4:00 PM EDT
  • Streaming: CFL Preseason Live
  • Odds: TBD

Simultaneously, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the Edmonton Elks square off. All eyes are on Jarret Doege of the Elks, as he seeks to maintain the poise he showed on Monday. On the Blue Bombers’ side, there’s curiosity around who will step up to fill the gap left by Casey Sayles in the defensive line. Even without Sayles, the Bombers have a strong roster including Jake Thomas, Willie Jefferson, and Jackson Jeffcoat.

BC Lions at Saskatchewan Roughriders

  • Location: Mosaic Stadium, Saskatchewan
  • Game Date: Saturday, May 27
  • Time: 7:00 PM EDT
  • Streaming: CFL Preseason Live
  • Odds: TBD

To round off the day, the BC Lions will clash with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. With Trevor Harris away for his child’s birth, the spotlight will be on the battle for the backup quarterback spot. Shea Patterson and Jake Dolegala are pushing incumbent Mason Fine for the position.

On the Lions’ end, their powerful quarterback duo of Vernon Adams Jr. and Dane Evans is sure to make a splash. The focus will be on whether the Roughriders have managed to improve their offensive line, particularly the offensive tackles.
