In the initial quarter, the Alouettes struggled to find their rhythm, trailing behind with a score of 0-9. However, they showed signs of revival in the second quarter by putting up 6 points. Post halftime, the Alouettes put on an impressive display, rallying to score 6 and 10 points in the third and fourth quarters respectively, leading to a thrilling 22-21 victory.

Ottawa RedBlacks Performance:

The RedBlacks kicked off the game with an excellent first quarter, leading 9-0. They added another 3 points in the second quarter but struggled in the third with zero points. A final push in the fourth quarter with 9 points wasn’t enough to hold off the charging Alouettes.

Nick Arbuckle was the leading passer for the RedBlacks, completing 15 of his 25 pass attempts for 209 yards. His passing game contributed significantly to Ottawa’s initial lead, with a 60% completion rate.

On the ground, De’Montre Tuggle was the standout performer, rushing 7 times for 33 yards. However, the RedBlacks were unable to convert the strong ground game into sufficient points.

In the receiving game, Justin Hardy led the RedBlacks, catching 4 passes for 70 yards. Savon Scarver also contributed with 4 catches for 53 yards.

This preseason match presented both teams with plenty to work on. The Alouettes, despite their slow start, showcased a powerful comeback spirit, whereas the RedBlacks would look to improve on maintaining their initial lead. As the CFL regular season approaches, this nail-biting encounter has certainly set an exciting tone.
