Ottawa vs. Winnipeg Preview

The Ottawa REDBLACKS, currently standing at 1-3, are set to face the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, who have a comfortable lead in the West Division with a 4-1 record. The REDBLACKS have their work cut out for them, as they’ll be facing one of the top defenses in the league, with the Bombers allowing just over 20 points per game. Key players to watch for Ottawa include QB Dustin Crum, who will be taking the reins following Jeremiah Masoli‘s Achilles injury, and receivers Jaelon Acklin and Justin Hardy.

On the other side, the Bombers’ defense, led by Willie Jefferson with his six sacks, will look to shut down Ottawa’s offensive advances. QB Zach Collaros, known for taking care of the football, will be put to the test against Ottawa’s defense that has managed to pick up five interceptions in four games.

In terms of betting advice, Winnipeg’s superior record and defensive capabilities should give them the edge in this match-up. The -9.5 spread seems apt given Ottawa’s struggles this season.

Calgary vs. Saskatchewan Preview

The second game of the day pits the Calgary Stampeders, currently 1-3, against the Saskatchewan Roughriders who stand at 3-1. The last time these two teams met, the Roughriders narrowly escaped with a 29-26 overtime victory. Key players to watch for Saskatchewan include QB Trevor Harris, who currently ranks third best among the league’s quarterbacks, and receivers Shawn Bane Jr. and Tevin Jones.

For Calgary, QB Jake Maier will hope to improve upon his last outing against the Roughriders, where he was intercepted three times. Veteran receiver Reggie Begelton, along with Tre Odoms-Dukes, will be Maier’s key targets.

The betting advice here points towards Saskatchewan. The Roughriders have had a strong start to the season, and their offensive capabilities should help them secure a win against Calgary. The odds for this game are even, but the Roughriders’ previous victory and stronger record make them the safer bet.

CFL Picks & Predictions

For Ottawa vs. Winnipeg, it’s reasonable to predict a Winnipeg victory based on their stellar defensive record and Ottawa’s struggles to find consistent form. Expect a score in the region of 27-14 in favor of the Blue Bombers.

For Calgary vs. Saskatchewan, the Roughriders should emerge victorious based on their previous outing and better form. Anticipate a scoreline in the region of 24-20 to the Roughriders.

As always, enjoy the games and happy viewing! Be sure to catch the CFL live stream to join in on all the action.
