CFL Week 15 Power Rankings: Preparing For Playoffs

1) Winnipeg Blue Bombers – Y (Last Week: 1)

The Blue Bombers are coming off a Week 15 loss to the Montreal Alouettes but remain in the top spot in the rankings due to their starting quarterback Zach Collaros missing the game to rest up for the playoffs. Backup quarterback and rushing touchdown leader Sean McGuire would get the start.

Sean McGuire would have a rough day at quarterback, ending the game having completed 11/26 passes (42.3% comp) for 149 yards, 1 touchdown, and 4 interceptions, also adding 2 rushes for 26 yards. Running back Brady Oliveira would lead the ground attack for Winnipeg, ending the game with 7 carries for 27 yards and 1 touchdown. Wide receiver Kenny Lawler would lead the team in receiving, finishing the day with 3 receptions for 58 yards, and Darvin Adams would get the team’s only touchdown through the air.

The Blue Bombers’ final game of the regular season is set to take place in Calgary against the Stampeders.

2) Saskatchewan Roughriders – X (Last Week: 2)

Saskatchewan is coming off a Week 15 win against the Edmonton Elks, keeping them locked in at the second spot in the rankings and moving them to a record of 9-4 on the season.

Cody Fajardo ended the game by completing 23/32 passes (71.9% comp) for 245 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 1 interception, adding 5 runs for 22 yards. Running back William Powell would lead the team’s rushing attack, finishing the day with 14 carries for 59 yards. Additionally, wide receiver D’haquille Williams would lead the team in receiving, ending the game with 8 receptions for 146 yards and 1 touchdown.

For their final game of the regular season, the Roughriders will travel to Hamilton in Week 16 for a matchup against the Ti-Cats.

3) Toronto Argonauts – Y (Last Week: 3)

Toronto is coming off a big win against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, keeping them in the third spot in the rankings and moving them to a 9-4 record on the year.

Quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson ended the game having completed 26/34 passes (76.5% comp) for 250 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception. Running back DJ Foster would lead the team in rushing, taking 18 carries for 47 yards. Additionally, wide receiver Kurleigh Gittens Jr led the team in receiving, hauling in 7 receptions for 72 yards and 1 touchdown.

The Argos will play their final regular-season game of the year at home against the Edmonton Elks.

4) Calgary Stampeders – X (Last Week: 6)

The Calgary Stampeders are coming off a big week 15 win over the BC Lions, moving them up to the fourth spot in the rankings, and moving them to a record of 7-6 on the season.

Bo Levi Mitchell ended the game having completed 20/26 passes (76.9% comp) for 264 yards and 3 touchdowns. Running back Ka’Deem Carey would lead the team in rushing, taking 15 carries for 85 yards and 1 touchdown. Leading the team in receiving would be wide receiver Reggie Begelton, who’d haul in 7 receptions for 119 yards and 1 touchdown on the day.

The Stamps’ final regular-season game of the year will come in Week 16 against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

5) Montreal Alouettes – X (Last Week: 5)

The Alouettes are coming off a big Week 15 win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and remain in the number 5 spot in the rankings due to the win coming against Bombers backup quarterback Sean McGuire.

Quarterback Trevor Harris ended the game having completed 18/25 passes (72.0% comp) for 144 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions. Running back William Stanback would take 18 carries for 65 yards, and the receiving attack would be led by Eugene Lewis, who ended the day with 6 receptions for 51 yards and 2 touchdowns.

The Alouettes will host a Week 16 matchup against the Ottawa Redblacks for their final regular-season game.

6) Hamilton Tiger-Cats – X (Last Week: 4)

Hamilton is coming off a rough Week 15 loss to the Toronto Argonauts, moving them to a record of 7-6 on the year.

Quarterback Jeremiah Masoli ended the game having completed 22/40 passes (55% comp) for 326 yards, 0 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions, also adding 4 runs or 37 yards. Running back Sean Thomas Earlington would lead the ground attack, ending the day with 8 carries for 37 yards, and wide receiver Tim White would lead the air attack, bringing in 5 receptions for 110 yards.

The Ti-Cats will play their final regular-season matchup in Hamilton against the Saskatchewan Roughriders in Week 16.

7) BC Lions (Last Week: 7)

The BC Lions are coming off a Week 15 loss to the Calgary Stampeders, moving them to a 4-9 record on the season.

Quarterback Michael Reilly ended the game having completed 30/37 passes (81.1% comp) for 340 yards and 1 touchdown, also adding 5 runs for 25 yards. Running back James Butler would lead the team in rushing, ending the game with 11 carries for 89 yards, and wide receiver Dominique Rhymes would lead the team in receiving, hauling in 6 receptions for 111 yards. Wide receiver Jevon Cottoy would score the team’s only touchdown through the air.

The Lions will host the Edmonton Elks in Week 16 for their final game of the season.

8) Edmonton Elks (Last Week: 8)

The Elks are coming off a loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders, moving them to a 2-10 record on the season.

Quarterback Taylor Cornelius would end the game by completing 20/30 passes (66.7% comp) for 224 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 1 interception, adding 2 carries for 11 yards. Running back Walter Fletcher led the rushing attack for Edmonton, ending the game with 20 carries for 88 yards. Additionally, wide receiver Jalen Tolliver would lead the team’s air attack, ending the game with 5 receptions for 98 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Edmonton will play 2 games in Week 16 to close out their season. The first game will come against the Argonauts in Toronto, with the second coming against the Lions in BC.

9) Ottawa Redblacks (Last Week: 9)

The Redblacks are coming off a Week 15 bye and remain at the bottom of the power rankings as they have throughout the season.

Ottawa has one final chance to evaluate what they can build on for next year, with their last game of the season coming against the Alouettes in Montreal in Week 16.
