Tiger-Cats add former Louisiana Tech Wide Receiver Griffin Hebert

The waning moments of 2024 are quickly approaching, but as the year ends, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats continue to look for new talent to add to their roster. According to the CFL Transactions list, the Tiger-Cats have signed American wide receiver Griffin Hebert to their 2025 roster. Earlier this month, the Tiger-Cats signed American wide receiver Trea Shropshire, and they have also been adding a host of defensive backs and a collection of National players on the defensive and offensive side of the ball.

Griffin Hebert is a 6’1″, 239-pound native of Lafayette, Louisiana. Although he is listed as a wide receiver on the transactions list, he has played tight end extensively in college and in limited action in the NFL. Regardless of his position, Hebert is a fast, explosive athlete with reliable hands.

Hebert played college football at Louisiana Tech from 2017 until 2022. While playing for the Bulldogs, he played in 56 games and recorded 99 receptions for 1,532 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also spent time in the NFL with the Seattle Seahawks (2023) and the Philadelphia Eagles (2024).

NFL scouts believe Hebert is a finesse-style receiver who will be a great fit for playing a slot receiver position. His speed makes him a great candidate to compete for an interior receiver position for the Tiger-Cats, and with some help from the CFL motion rules, he could find himself very successful in the CFL. As with all players signed by Hamilton this time of year, the challenge for Hebert will be finding a way to make the Tiger-Cats 2025 roster during training camp.
