Montreal Alouettes Sign American WR, Ronnie Blackmon

The Montreal Alouettes signed wide receiver Ronnie Blackmon on Monday. Blackmon played his collegiate football for West Georgia, Toledo, and Colorado returning punts at all 3 schools in addition to his receiving duties.

In 2022 Ronnie Blackmon played in all 10 games for the West Georgia Wolves in the Gulf South Conference (D2).  He caught 30 passes for 451 yards on the season and was second in yards on the team. He also led the team in receiving touchdowns with 5. Blackmon had 2 games over 100 yards receiving and was named to Second Team All-Gulf South Conference.

In 2021 Blackmon played all 12 games for West Georgia contributing 409 yards on 42 receptions. He also added 3 touchdown receptions and a punt return touchdown.

Blackmon played for Toledo in the MAC in 2020 in all 6 games of the shortened covid season. He contributed 12 receptions for 149 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Blackmon sat the 2019 season out after transferring to Toledo from Colorado.

Blackmon played for Colorado in 2017 and 2018 in the PAC-12. He played in 12 games in 2018 and 10 games in 2017 returning punts and kickoffs. At Colorado, he was listed as a defensive back before switching primarily to wide receiver after transferring to Toledo. He contributed 7 defensive tackles and a pass defended in 2018.

In high school, Blackmon was a top-50 cornerback prospect according to Rivals.com. In his senior year, he was named First-Team All-State and Metro Atlanta Defensive Player of the Year.
