Winnipeg Blue Bombers Extend WR Rasheed Bailey

 WINNIPEG, MB. -The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announced the club has agreed to terms on a one-year contract extension with American receiver Rasheed Bailey, a month before he was to become a free agent. 

Bailey is a six-foot-one wide receiver from Delaware Valley University(DVU) where he finished 165 catches in 43 games played. He also totaled 3,138 racing yards and 29 touchdowns. Bailey’s best year came in his senior year where he got the bolk of stats including his 19 touchdowns. 

His play during his senior year lauded him to be second all-time in receiving yards and holds the school record in career receiving yards. He also was lauded eight different awards after the conclusion of his senior year, including Middle Atlantic Conference Player of the year, First team all-conference, D3football.com First Team All-East Region, D3football.com First Team All-American, Associated Press (AP) First Team Little All-America Squad, and Maxwell Football Club Tri-State Player of the Year. 

After going undrafted in the 2015 NFL Draft, Bailey would alternate between the NFL and CFL. Ion order Bailey first started with the Philadelphia Eagles, then the BC Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars San Diego Chargers, Cleveland Browns, and finally the Carolina Panthers before landing in Winnipeg in 2019. 

While suited top for the Blue and Gold, Bailey appeared in 19 games where he logged 71 receptions for a total of 835 receiving yards and five touchdowns. He also rushed for 68 in eight carries averaging eight and a half yards per carrying.
