European League of Football (ELF) Pre-Season Update: One Month Until Kickoff, ELF Players To The NFL, & More!

Less Than A Month Until Kickoff

The ELF has officially entered its pre-season after organized team activities began on May 1st, and the kickoff to the 2022 season is approaching quickly! The league’s first game of the season will feature the Cologne Centurions hosting the Istanbul Rams on Saturday, June 4th at 9 am PST, with games available worldwide by purchasing one of the European League of Football’s Gamepass options.

As a bonus, the league announced back in September that Instant Replay will be at EVERY game in 2022, making the ELF the only American football league in Europe currently utilizing this technology to this extent.

Last season the league operated without Instant Replay for the entire regular season and playoffs, but the technology was implemented for the Championship game, with the promise of continued use throughout the 2022 season.

More info regarding other changes and additions to the ELF for the 2022 season can be found at EuropeanLeague.Football.

  • Swarco Raiders Tirol – DB – Dominique Shelton
  • Swarco Raiders Tirol – RB – Logan Moragne
  • Swarco Raiders Tirol – DE – Niklas Gustav
  • Swarco Raiders Tirol – DT – Laurynas Orlovicius
  • Swarco Raiders Tirol – S – Maxime Roger
  • Swarco Raiders Tirol – CB – Lucas Veluire
  • Swarco Raiders Tirol – C – Manuel Lortzing

The Swarco Raiders Tirol have signed their last import player for the 2022 season, running back Logan Moragne.

Moragne started his college football career at Arkansas State, winning the Sun Belt Conference in both of his seasons with the Red Wolves. After 2 seasons with Arkansas State, Moragne transferred to Henderson State and rushed for 1,500 yards and 19 touchdowns in 22 games. He also showed potential in the receiving game, catching 23 passes for 150 yards, and made himself known as a threat in the return game. His performance with Henderson State earned him All-Conference honors in both of his final 2 seasons with the team.

Moragne commented on his recent signing, stating,

“I heard a lot about the organization and experienced it myself. Here I am getting the chance to win games and to grow not only as a player, but as a person, too.“

ELF Players Allocated To NFL Teams

Two of the European League of Football’s standout players from the 2021 season, cornerback Marcel Dabo & defensive lineman Adedayo Odeleye, have been allocated to NFL teams via the NFL’s International Pathways Program (NFL IPP).

Former Berlin Thunder defensive lineman Adedayo Odeleye will be joining the Houston Texans for the 2022 and 2023 seasons. Odeleye took part in the NFL IPP a year ago, but the British defensive lineman did not make the cut to be allocated.

Former Stuttgart Surge cornerback Marcel Dabo will join the Indianapolis Colts for the 2022 and 2023 seasons. The 22-year-old defensive back recently ran a 4.42 40-yard dash at the Arizona State pro day and recorded 22 benchpress reps.
