The BC Lions announced a half dozen signings on Thursday as they inked 6 American players. The Lions have signed linebackers Corey Flagg Jr. and Ralen Goforth, defensive back Joshua Pickett, wide receivers Anthony Sambucci and Treeon Sibley, and offensive lineman Logan Zschernitz.
LB Corey Flagg Jr. – Missouri (5’10, 233 lbs)
Corey Flagg began his collegiate season with Miami, where he played in 43 games with 23 starts from 2020 through 2023. He recorded 179total tackles with the program (93 solo, 86 assisted, 24.5 tackles for a loss, 5.5 sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, an interception, and 2 passes defended with Miami.
Flagg played his final collegiate season with Missouri in 2024, where he played in 13 games with 7 starts and had a career high in tackles. He would record 81 total tackles (37 solo, 44 assisted), 4.5 tackles for loss, a sack, a fumble recovery, an interception, and a pass defended with Missouri.
LB Ralen Goforth – Washington (5’10, 233 lbs)
Ralen Goforth played for USC from 2019 through 2021, where he played in 40 games with 16 starts. He recorded 149 total tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 2 passes defended, 2 fumble recoveries, a forced fumble, and an interception with USC.
He played his final collegiate season with Washington in 2023, where he played in 15 games with 1 start. He made 37 total tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 2 passes defended, and a forced fumble with Washington.
He signed with the Green Bay Packers in 2024 as an undrafted free agent and appeared in 3 preseason games, recording 8 solo tackles and 7 assisted tackles. He was placed on injured reserve with an ankle injury and later waived from injured reserve.
Goforth had signed with the Michigan Panthers of the UFL in January of 2025 and was waived in March. He later signed with the DC Defenders on April 21 and was waived on May 6.
DB Joshua Pickett – Duke (5’10, 233 lbs)
Joshua Pickett played in 49 games with Duke from 2021 to 2024. He recorded 101 total tackles (66 solo, 35 assisted), 4.5 tackles for loss, a sack, 2 interceptions, a forced fumble, and an impressive 18 passes defended with Duke.
He was signed by the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent in 2025, where he played in 2 preseason games, recording 5 solo tackles, an assisted tackle, a pass defended, and an interception. He was waived by the Broncos in final cuts.
WR Anthony Sambucci – Western Michigan (6’1, 190 lbs)
Anthony Sambucci played in 43 games with 28 starts for Western Michigan from 2020 through 2024. His usage was limited in his first 2 seasons, which did not see him record a catch. In his final 3 seasons, he caught 74 passes for 980 yards and 8 touchdowns over 30 games with 28 starts. He was named Third-Team All-MAC in 2023.
WR Treeon Sibley – Liberty (6’1, 205 lbs)
Treon Sibley played in 48 games for Liberty from 2021 to 2024 with 20 starts. He recorded 68 receptions for 1,249 yards and 10 touchdowns over that span. He was with the program in 2019 and 2020 as well, appearing in 11 games, but had limited usage and did not get his first catch until his third season. He averaged 20.3 yards per catch in 2023 and 18.21 yards per catch in 2024.
OL Logan Zschernitz – Northern Illinois (6’3, 305 lbs)
Logan Zschernitz played in 49 games with Northern Illinois from 2019 through 2024, with 45 starts. He was named All-Mac second team in 2024, which was a season in which he started 12 games at center and 1 at right guard. Over his collegiate career, he had starts at both center and right guard.
