Montreal Alouettes Sign Montana Alumn, OL Cannon Panfiloff

The Montreal Alouettes announced on Wednesday the signing of American offensive tackle Cannon Panfiloff to a  2-year contract. Panfiloff played for Montana from 2023 through 2025.

The Alouettes also announced the release of defensive lineman Chiozie Nwankwo (Colorado) and the retirement of offensive lineman Arlington Hambright (Colorado).

OL Cannon Panfiloff (6’6, 294 lbs)

Cannon Panfiloff played in 41 games for the University of Montana with 30 starts. He was recognized with the Paul Weskamp Award, which is awarded for outstanding offensive lineman play with the team. He was also named First Team All-Conference after being a part of a unit that gave up just 23 sacks in 2025. Sports Illustrated named him to their FCS Central Third Team in 2025.

Panfiloff started in 11 of his 12 games in 2024. He played in 14 games for Montana in 2023 with 4 starts at both guard and tackle.

Panfiloff was also named Academic All-Big Sky in 2020, 2021, and 2022.

Cannon played for Utah Tech prior to Montana, where he played in 2021 and 2020. He had nine games and seven starts in 2021. In 2020, he played in 5 games with 1 start.
