Benoit Marion Joins the Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ Defensive Line

After starting the 2024 CFL season with a loss in Calgary in Week 1, the Tiger-Cats are looking for reinforcements to their defensive depth chart. Earlier this week, the Tiger-Cats signed National defensive back Siriman Harrison Bagayogo, and today, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced that they have also added National defensive lineman Benoit Marion. Marion joins a group of young defensive linemen led by CFL veteran Casey Sayles.

Benoit Marion, a 6’5″, 250-pound defensive lineman from Montreal, Quebec, brings a wealth of experience and skill to the Tiger-Cats. After a successful stint with the Toronto Argonauts, where he played in 32 games and recorded 19 tackles, one quarterback sack, and two forced fumbles, Benoit is ready to make his mark in Hamilton. His contributions to the Argonauts’ championship season in 2022 are a testament to his talent and potential.

While in Toronto, Benoit contributed to the Argonauts’ championship season in 2022, when the Argonauts won the Grey Cup. The Montreal Alouettes drafted Benoit in the third round of the 2020 CFL Draft. The Montreal native played U Sports football at the University of Montreal and was named an RSEQ Defensive All-Star in 2018.

Benoit joins a Tiger-Cats defensive line that Hamilton retooled entirely during the 2024 free-agency period. The former Toronto defensive lineman will join defensive end Brando Barlow, who signed with the Tiger-Cats after playing for the Argonauts. Hamilton is working to continue to build depth at key defensive groups in the defensive backfield and their defensive front seven.
