Blue Bombers Sign WR Naaman Roosevelt

The Winnepeg Blue Bombers announced on Monday that they have signed free agent and former CFL WR Naaman Roosevelt.

Roosevelt was previously with the Montreal Alouettes until his release in June. Before that, his CFL career was with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, where he had two 1,000 receiving seasons between 2015 and 2019.

The American receiver has played in 67 total CFL games, with career stats of 301 catches, for 4,134 yards, and 20 TDs.

Roosevelt was an undrafted free agent out of the University of Buffalo before signing with the Buffalo Bills in 2010. He has also been with the Cleveland Browns, and Detroit Lions.

Winnipeg says he will not be eligible for their Week 5 road matchup on Sunday, September 5th. Presumably because of COVID-19 protocols, forcing travelers from America to quarantine for 7 days prior to joining the team.

He adds depth, skill, and knowledge of the game to the Blue Bombers WR position.

The team also officially announced the addition of former Massachusetts Pirates K Ali Mourtado. He is also on the suspended list until he completes travel requirements.
