The Canadian Football League (CFL) is ready to host its second annual Kicking Showcase on January 20 at Maranatha Christian Schools in San Diego. This significant event will bring together 28 top players and prospects, offering a crucial opportunity for kickers to display their abilities in front of CFL scouts and coaches.

Success Stories from Last Year

The impact of the Kicking Showcase on careers is evident from last year’s outcomes. Campbell Fair, a former player with the Ottawa Gee-Gees, was selected 51st overall by the Ottawa REDBLACKS in the 2023 CFL Draft, thanks to his performance at the showcase. In addition, free agents Toshiki Sato and Devin Anctil secured spots with the Calgary Stampeders and Winnipeg Blue Bombers, respectively.

Kickoff to the CFL Combine Season

This year’s Kicking Showcase is not just an event in isolation; it signifies the start of the 2024 CFL Combine Season. The next major event will be the CFL Invitational Combine on March 8 at the University of Waterloo’s Feridun Hamdullahpur Field House. This will be an opportunity for players across Canada to vie for a place among the top-ranked draft-eligible players at the CFL Combine in Winnipeg, happening from March 19-24.
