Hello football fans. Week 20 came to an end with a close-knit game as expected, with Winnipeg squeaking out a 17-16 win over Saskatchewan. BC exploded on an Edmonton team with a 37-24 victory. Montreal was at its usual with its punishing defence with a 39-24 win over Ottawa. And finally, with nothing to play for in their last scheduled game of the season, Toronto was humiliated by Calgary in a 44-13 loss.  Â
Hello CFL Fans! Here are your CFL News Hub Power Rankings – the Aftermath of Week 20.
1 – Saskatchewan Roughriders
Record: 12-5
Previous ranking:Â 1
Saskatchewan entered week 20 with a date with their bitter rivals, Winnipeg. With already sealing the best record in the CFL, there was more at stake for Winnipeg to secure a playoff spot. Jake Maier got the nod for QB1, replacing Trevor Harris in a non-meaningful game for Saskatchewan. It was a more conservative game for Jake Maier, going 15 for 20 in pass completions, with 123 passing yards, followed by no touchdown passes and no interceptions. Saskatchewan was ineffective in the running game with a total of 29 rushing yards.   Â
Next game:Â Saturday, October 24th, 2025, vs. BC
 2 – BC Lions
Record:Â 10-7
Previous ranking:Â 2
The Lions are literally roaring with the way they have been playing football. Nathan Rourke was on fire, dismantling the Edmonton defence with 338 passing yards, 1 touchdown, and a lone interception. He would continue to break down the Edmonton defence for 82 rushing yards and 1 touchdown. One of those runs was a 70-yard touchdown run that was exciting to see for football fans. The Leos are definitely in the conversation as a Grey Cup contender come playoff time.  Â
Next game:Â Saturday, October 24th, 2025, in Regina.
3 – Montreal Alouettes
Record:Â 10-7
Previous ranking:Â 3
The Montreal defence is alive and well in La Belle Province, and it was on full display in the Nation’s Capital. More importantly, they extended their winning streak to five games. The Montreal defence controlled the game over Ottawa with 6 turnovers (3 interceptions and 3 fumble recoveries). Darnell Sankey was a monster on the field with a 10-tackle game. Najee Murray had 2 big interceptions, followed by Tyrice Beverette with 1 interception. Montreal sits tied with Hamilton with a 10-7 record. Week 21 will be for all the marbles now in the East Division for both Montreal and Hamilton.    Â
Next game:Â Saturday, October 25th, 2025, in Winnipeg.
4 – Hamilton Tiger-Cats
Record:Â 10-7
Previous ranking:Â 4
Hamilton was the lone team on a bye week during week 20. They will now end their regular season hosting Ottawa.Â
Next game:Â Friday, October 24th, 2025, vs. Ottawa.
5 – Calgary Stampeders
Record:Â 10-7
Previous ranking:Â 5
Calgary was looking to pounce on a struggling Toronto team who were already out of playoff contention. The Stampeders did just that with a dominant 44-13 win. It was not flashy numbers by Vernon Adams Jr., but what he did was protect the football, going 12 for 14 in pass completions for 213 passing yards, and 3 touchdown passes. The Calgary defence as a whole was able to halt any threat by Toronto. Calgary was able to constantly take Toronto out of harm’s way to score any points. Dedrick Mills had a big game with 177 total yards and a lone touchdown.Â
Next game:Â Friday, October 24th, 2025, in Edmonton Â
6 – Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Record:Â 9-8
Previous ranking:Â 7Â
The Blue Bombers were looking to snag a victory against their arch-rivals, Saskatchewan, in front of their home crowd. It was not pretty by any means. However, a win is still a win. It was a hard-hitting game, as is the usual when both of these football teams square off, with Winnipeg coming on top with a 17-16 win. For Winnipeg, this was a much-needed win, as they could be one of the cross-over teams come playoff time.   Â
Next game:Â Saturday, October 25th, 2025, vs. Montreal.
7 – Edmonton Elks
Record:Â 7-10
Previous ranking:Â 6
It’s official. The Elks have been eliminated from the 2025 playoff race. The Elks were outmatched in all 3 phases of the game. Cody Fajardo had his worst game on record for the Elks this season, going 19 for 34 in pass completions, for 230 passing yards, 1 touchdown pass, followed by 3 interceptions. It was a lot to ask for down the stretch from the 1-4 mark to begin the 2025 season. On a positive note, the 2025 Elks team showed character this season, defeating some big teams. They will be in the conversation as a much more improved team next season.     Â
Next game: Friday, October 24th, 2025, vs. Calgary  Â
8 – Toronto Argonauts
Record:Â 5-13Â
Previous ranking:Â 8Â
Toronto took this week’s 20-date against Calgary to audition quarterbacks Jarret Doege, Max Duggan, and Tucker Horn. None was able to consistently engineer any real threat of offence for the duration of the game. The big bright spots on the Argos offence came from both Kevin Mital with 69 receiving yards and Jake Herslow with 92 receiving yards. It was a bad season for the Double Blue. They will now go back to the drawing board to improve their roster for the 2026 season.   Â
Next game: None. Toronto completed its 2025 season schedule in week 20.
9 – Ottawa Redblacks
Record:Â 4-13Â
Previous ranking:Â 9
With their season officially put to rest three weeks ago, all that Ottawa could have done was play for pride. Unfortunately for the Redblacks, they were exploited by Montreal for a good part of the game. Tyrie Adams could only do so much to evade the constant pressure of the Montreal defence. With the running game ineffective, Ottawa had to air out the ball a lot, going 27 for 44 in pass completions for 286 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions. Ottawa will now focus on Hamilton for their last game of the season.
Next game:Â Friday, October 24th, 2025, in Hamilton.Â
