TSN Insider Farham Lalji has the latest proposal details for the CFL players. Voting on this proposal has been begun by members of the CFLPA. They have until midnight tonight to agree on this.
“Here’s the CBA ratio adjustments: Rolling ratio (Nationalized can play up to 49% of snaps): 2 in 2023. @CFL has the right to move it to 3 in 2024 if they believe it is working. The 2 teams with the most # of snaps in any given season will be given an extra 2nd round pick.”
Here are the updates to the ratification bonus.
“Ratification bonus is 1.25 million. This deal was unanimously approved by the bargaining committee and player reps. Votes are happening now “

CFL News Hub has learned that the ratification bonus will be pulled from several salary caps for the length of this deal. The original proposal was for the ratification bonus money to come from the end of the agreement in 2028.
We will see if the players will vote YES on this. Not sure how much better the ratio rule is with this go-round. CFL players will have options soon with both the return of the XFL and start up of the USFL.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers 2021 first-round pick Liam Dobson wanted to play in the USFL. The only reason he is not playing in the US right now is because of work visa issues. Then there is Elks RB James Wilder’s take on the matter.
“Cfl keep in mind the rock got stuff brewing right now that will affect our league if y’all don’t get it right, Their is no longer a need for players to sacrifice. Just be fair so we can play some ball and feel like pros playing!Waiting this late then blaming us is ridiculous!!!”
