Purr-fect Depth Move: New Faces Pad Tiger-Cats’ Depth Chart

When the Hamilton Tiger-Cats defeated the Ottawa Redblacks 35-15 during the last week of the 2025 season, the Tiger-Cats earned the opportunity to rest, relax, and recover during the start of the CFL playoffs. While Hamilton is using this bye week to get healthy for the East Finals, the Tiger-Cats are also using this week to address depth issues at key positions.

Today, the Tiger-Cats announced that they have signed three players to their practice roster to fill depth in specific roles: National defensive tackle Kail Dava as an interior defensive lineman, National kicker Michael Domagala as a specialist for placekicking and punting, and American wide receiver Moochie Dixon as an additional receiving option.

The Tiger-Cats shared news of the practice roster additions on their X account.

Kail Dava is a 6’3″, 281-pound National defensive tackle who started his CFL career with the Calgary Stampeders during the 2024 season. In 2024, Dava played in eight games for the Stampeders, recording only three solo tackles. Dava played college football at Tennessee Tech from 2019 until 2023. While playing for the Golden Eagles, Dava played in 48 games and registered 41 solo tackles, 46 assists, and eight quarterback sacks.

Michael Domagala returns to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats after serving his first stint as Hamilton’s kicker from 2021 to 2022. Domagala played in 23 games for Hamilton, making 19 field goals out of 26 attempts and 12 out of 13 extra point conversions. In 2023, Domagala played in five games for the Ottawa Redblacks, making 8 out of 9 field goal attempts and converting 8 out of 8 extra point attempts.

American wide receiver Moochie Dixon joins the CFL after spending part of the 2025 NFL season on the New Orleans Saints practice squad. Dixon, who stands 6’0″ and weighs 187 pounds, is a native of Carthage, Texas. He played college football at the University of Texas from 2020 to 2021, then transferred to Southern Methodist University, where he played from 2022 to 2024. While with the Longhorns, Dixon played in 15 games and caught 12 passes for 176 yards, including a 76-yard touchdown reception. Following his transfer to SMU, he appeared in 40 more games for the Mustangs, catching 77 passes for 1,205 yards and scoring eight touchdowns.
