Montreal Alouettes: McLeod Bethel-Thompson led the Alouettes to victory last week completing 18 of his 30 passes for 228 yards and 2 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. Davis Alexander will be back under center returning from injury. Montreal currently sits 2nd in the East, 2 games behind Hamilton and 2 games ahead of Toronto.

Calgary Stampeders: The Calgary Stampeders saw their lead in the standings dwindle as they lost while both Winnipeg and BC won who now currently sit 1 game behind them. Calgary is 2 games behind Saskatchewan who lead the West. Vernon Adams Jr. will start at quarterback despite being limited in practice with a back injury much of the week.

Alouettes Keys to the Game

Stop Dedrick Mills

Last week was perfect for Montreal in the run defense category. They held their opposing runningbacks to just 7 yards on 8 carries. That’s an ingredient for victory. They will need a strong performance to slow down Mills who is 2nd in the league in rushing yards.

Bend But Don’t Break in Pass Coverage

Vernon Adams Jr. is dangerous when it comes to deep shots. Montreal will need to be careful to ensure he does not have success in this area.

Pound the Rock

Getting a strong run game established to provide run support for Davis Alexander will help him be comfortable in the backfield as he returns to game action.

Score Prediction:

I’m torn on this game but going to go with the home team coming off a win rather than the visitor that had a really tough game defensively last week. I predict Montreal to win 28-24.
