Offensive Lineman Nila Kasitati Returns to Calgary

An old familiar face returns to Calgary as American offensive lineman Nila Kasitati returns to the franchise.

The team announced Tuesday that Kasitati was removed from the retirement list and added to the suspended list for his quarantine period.

After playing at the University of Oklahoma, Kasitati played 20 games for the Stampeders during the 2018 and 2019 seasons. He made 18 starts at right tackle and made two starts at center for Calgary. Kasitati did report to training camp for the team before being placed on the retirement list on July 10th.

Calgary also announced the signing of global defensive lineman Misiona Aiolupotea-Pei. He started the season on the Edmonton Elks’ practice roster after being Edmonton’s second-round selection in the 2021 global draft.

The New Zealander started six games while attending Washington State. He recorded 29 tackles including 4.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, and one forced fumble during that span. Following his senior season, Aiolupotea-Pei was invited to the Hula Bowl. He played at Riverside City College in California prior to attending Washington State.
