Redblacks Devontae Dedmon Heads To The NFL

DeVonte Dedmon, former Wide Receiver for the Ottawa Redblacks has signed a deal with the Miami Dolphins. 

Dedmon is a five-foot-ten-inches 200 pounds wide receiver from William & Mary University. At William & Mary University Dedmon played in 44 games where he totaled 152 receptions, 2037 yards, 20 Touchdowns, and 240 rushing yards with one touchdown. 

He is commonly known as one of the best receivers in school history. He finished his career with six postseason All-CAA honors, earning the distinction as a wide receiver three times. He ranks tied for fourth all-time at W&M in touchdown catches (20), fifth in kick return yards (1,364), sixth in all-purpose yards (3,825), and ninth in receptions (152). He nearly cracked the program’s all-time top 10 in receiving yards (2,037).

In 2019, Dedmon made his CFL debut with the Ottawa Redblacks. He appeared in an injury-shortened season of five games where he recorded four receptions for 58 yards but came into his own as a kick returner. Dedmon returned five punts for 22 yards, including a 95-yard touchdown, and 16 kicks for 542 yards, with a 111-yard touchdown.

He announced the move on January 26 at 9:13 A.M. via Twitter, saying” Signing with #Dolphins.”
