REDBLACKS Sign Former Steelers QB Devlin “Duck” Hodges

It was announced today that former Pittsburgh Steeler and Los Angeles Ram, Devlin “Duck” Hodges is signing with the Ottawa REDBLACKS. He will be joining the QB room of Dominique Davis, Matt Nichols, Taryn Christion, and Caleb Evans.

Hodges is an alum of Samford University, wherein 5 years he threw for 14,584 yards with a 69 completion percentage on 1,896 attempts, 111 touchdowns, and 41 interceptions. He earned the Walter Payton Award in 2018 and from 2016 to 2018 he was named SoCon Offensive Player of the Year and made the First-Team All-SoCon. His 14,584 passing yards are 1st all-time for the NCAA FCS.

After going undrafted in 2019, he signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers making his start after 1st string QB Ben Roethlisberger and Backup Mason Rudolph went down with injuries. He played in 8 games, starting 6, where he had a 3-3 record. He threw for 1,063 yards with a 63 completion percentage on 160 attempts and five touchdowns to eight interceptions. After the 2020 season he was waived before immediately signing with the Los Angeles Rams.

The Ottawa REDBLACKS (1-4) will be looking to bounce back next week against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (2-3) on Wednesday, September 22nd 7:30 PM EST
