Stampeders Signed American Offensive Lineman Jakari Robinson From Bowling Green State

The Calgary Stampeders have signed American offensive lineman Jakari Robinson, who recently played for Bowling Green State University. In 2022, Robinson, who is six-foot-one and weighs 310 pounds, participated in 10 games and made nine starts as a center for the Falcons.

Before joining Bowling Green, Robinson spent three seasons at Cincinnati and one at Memphis. During his time with the Bearcats, he played in 29 games and started 24 as a center. In 2019, he earned a spot on the American Athletic Conference all-academic team. While at Memphis, Robinson appeared in seven games for the Tigers.

In 2019, Robinson played the center position for all 14 games and was named to the Rimington Trophy Watch List. He helped UC achieve a high ranking in the AAC for rushing offense, as Michael Warren II became the first UC running back to gain 1,000 or more yards in consecutive seasons since 2010-11. The team concluded the season with an American Athletic Conference East Division Championship, a TicketSmarter Birmingham Bowl victory, and the No. 21 spot in all three major polls.

In 2018, due to an injury, Robinson joined the lineup in the seventh game and contributed to the Bearcats’ solid performance. He played in eight games with six starts and was part of an offensive line that set a school record of 3,113 rushing yards, surpassing a record set in 1970.

Robinson redshirted in 2017.

Before joining UC, Robinson was a highly-regarded recruit, earning three stars from Rivals.com and two stars from both 247Sports.com and Scout.com. He was ranked as a top-25 center in the 2017 class and among the top 75 players in Alabama. As a recruit, 247Sports.com placed him 2070th nationally, 32nd as an offensive center, and 77th best football prospect in Alabama for the class of 2017, with a composite score of 0.7965.
