Defensive Line

Position – CP (Clink Points) – Name (Team)

Defensive grades are generated using the Clink scoring system. Note it is not prorated based on a players amount of snaps in a game.

First Team DE – 4.7 –  Pete Robertson (SSK)

Pete Roberston had a big game in which he had a strip sack early in the game. He also added 3 quality pressures later in the game and was part of a couple of big run stops.

First Team DT – 3.1 – Miles Brown (SSK)

Brown generated noticeable pressure 4 times and also helped with a sack in the first quarter. He was part of a big run stop on a 2nd and 2 in the third quarter.

First Team DT – 2.9 – Mustafa Johnson (MTL)

Johnson had 3 quality pressures and a QB hit in addition to a first-quarter sack. He also had a quality run tackle in the first and a run stop in the second quarter.

First Team DE – 3.4 – Jake Ceresna (EDM)

Cersena was listed on the depth chart as a second-string defensive tackle but he lined up most of the game at defensive end. Ceresna had 2 sacks and 3 quality pressures as well as 2 other plays in which some lighter pressure was applied. He also had a run stop in the third quarter.

Second Team DE – 2.9 – Anthony Lanier II (SSK)

Lanier recovered a fumble early in the game and generated pressure 5 times on 3 of which he was held. He had a sack on the final play for Saskatchewan to end his game. He was guilty of an unnecessary roughing the passer penalty extending BC’s drive late in the 4th quarter but had a tremendous game.

Second Team DT – 2.5 – Micah Johnson (SSK)

Generated 3 pressures, helped generate a force fumble, and got to the backfield quickly in the 2nd quarter spinning off the o-lineman on a run play.

Second Team DT – 2.4 – Casey Sayles (HAM)

Sayles had 2 quality run stops, a sack, a good tackle on a short pass, and another good tackle against a run play.

Second Team DE – 2.8 – Willie Jefferson (WPG)

Jefferson generated 4 pressures, a run stop, and helped with another run stop. He also had a knockdown in the 4th quarter.

Linebackers

First Team LB – 2.7 – Tyrice Beverette (MTL)

Beverette hurried the quarterback 3 times, had a sack in the 2nd quarter, 2 tackles closing in on quick passes, and a run stop in the 4th quarter. Beverette also broke up a pass in the third quarter resulting in Ottawa punting. He did have a missed tackle on a short yardage play that ultimately led to a rushing touchdown by Pigrome but outside of 1 missed tackle in the backfield he played a pretty excellent game.

First Team MLB – 3.9 – Larry Dean (SSK)

Larry Dean had 3 run stops, a sack, and another good run tackle in the win against BC. He also had 2 quarterback hurries that came on back-to-back plays in the 4th quarter.

First Team Cover LB – 3.3 – Titus Wall (CGY)

Titus Wall had a sack in the 2nd quarter, 3 run stops one of which was for a loss. He also pressured the quarterback 3 times and had 3 additional quality tackles closing in quickly on a pass play and 2 run plays.

Second Team LB – 2.4 – Bo Lokombo (BC)

Lokombo applied pressure to the quarterback twice, broke up a pass in the third quarter, had a run stop, and also assisted with another run stop.

Second Team MLB – 3 – Tyrell Richards (MTL)

Despite being listed as a 2nd string player Richards had a big impact. He had a run tackle forcing a fumble in the third quarter. He also had 2 run stops in the 4th quarter.

Second Team Cover LB – 1.1 – C.J. Reavis (SSK)

Reavis closed in quickly on a short pass for a tackle in the 2nd quarter, had a sack, and had a fantastic run tackle on 2nd and short against Mizzell in the third quarter.

Defensive Backs

First Team CB – 3 – Jeremy Clark (SSK)

Broke up 2 passes in the endzone throughout the game, had an interception in the 2nd quarter, and made a good tackle on a short pass. Jeremy Clark also did a good job grabbing Dominique Davis’ legs stopping him on a 2-point conversion attempt.

First Team HB – 3.1 – T.J. Lee (BC)

Lee provided great coverage on an incompletion targeting Shawn Bane Jr. in the 2nd quarter and again in the 4th quarter. He also had a couple of good tackles on short passes closing in quickly. Lee broke up a pass down the left side of the field in the third quarter and had a run stop for a loss in the 4th quarter.

First Team S – 1.5 – Branden Dozier (CGY)

Dozier provided good coverage on a target his way in the first quarter, broke up a pass in the end zone in the third quarter, and had a run stop and another good tackle on a run play.

First Team HB – 2.2 – Reggie Stubblefield (MTL)

Stubblefield made a couple of quick tackles on short passes, provided good coverage on a play targeting his way resulting in an incompletion, and had an interception on the final defensive play for Montreal.

First Team CB – 2.8 – Demerio Houston (WPG)

Houston provided good coverage on a deep ball early in the game, had a run stop in the second quarter, and did a great job jumping a route for an interception he took back 45 yards for a touchdown. He did allow a 46-yard pass his way later in the game but overall had a great impact for Winnipeg.

Second Team CB – 2.7 – Sherrod Baltimore (OTT)

Baltimore had an interception in the 2nd quarter, a tackle for a loss on a quick pass, and another good tackle on a short pass later in the game.

Second Team HB – 1.2 – Damon Webb (OTT)

Webb had a run stop, and a run tackle, provided good coverage on a deep throw in the end zone in the 2nd quarter, and broke up a pass on a 2-point conversion attempt.

Second Team S – 1.1 Quincy Mauger (BC)

Mauger had a good tackle on a short pass to Shawn Bane Jr. and another good run tackle in the 4th in addition to providing good coverage.

Second Team HB –  1.2 – Kobe Williams (CGY)

Kobe Williams had a forced fumble, a pass breakup, a good tackle on a run play in the third quarter, and closed in for a tackle on a short pass in the 4th quarter.

Second Team CB – 2.2 – Garry Peters (BC)

Peters Island provided the Lions with an excellent breakup on a 2nd and 4 in the 1st quarter, good coverage on a deep ball to Samuel Emilus, and had a tackle in the third quarter before generating a tackle for a loss the next play on a short pass in the third quarter. He did allow a 46-yard completion to Emilus but he did provide good coverage on the play and the receiver went up to make a great play.

Quarterbacks

Quarterback performances outlined in the Weekly Quarterback rankings

First Team QB – Vernon Adams Jr. (BC)

Completed 26 of 41 (63%) for 455 yards, 3 touchdowns, 1 interception, and 2 rushes for 24 yards.

Second Team QB – Tre Ford (EDM

Completed 13 of his 18 passes (72%) for 174 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 5 rushes for 60 yards.

Running Backs

Running back performances outlined in the Weekly Running back rankings

First Team RB – James Butler (HAM)

14 rushes for 114 yards (8.1 average), 1 touchdown, and 3 receptions for 32 yards.

Second Team RB – Kevin Brown (EDM)

16 rushes for 89 yards (5.6 average) and 1 catch for 6 yards.

Wide Receivers

First Team WR – Alexander Hollins (BC)

9 targets,  7 catches,  161 yards,  11 YAC,  1 touchdowns

First Team WR – Tyler Snead (MTL)

7 targets,  7 catches,  98 yards,  48 YAC,  2 touchdowns

First Team WR – Samuel Emilus (SSK)

7 targets,  5 catches,  106 yards,  24 YAC,  1 touchdowns

First Team WR – Steven Dunbar Jr. (EDM)

4 targets,  4 catches,  93 yards,  33 YAC,  2 touchdowns

First Team WR – Lucky Whitehead (BC)

Offensive Line

First Team OL – Edmonton Elks

The Edmonton Elks offensive line has looked completely different than it was prior to their bye week. They have been providing good protection and pass-blocking the last 2 games.

2nd String: RG: Phillip Grohovac

Second Team OL – Montreal Alouettes

The Alouettes offensive line has been playing very well as of late. They provided good run blocking and pass protection against Ottawa. At least 2 of the sacks Ottawa had were avoidable as they came outside of the pocket and could have been avoided by throwing the ball away.

LT Nick Callender, LG Pier-Olivier Lestage, C Justin Lawrence, RG Kristian Matte, RT Landon Rice

2nd String: LG: Jesse Gibbon, RT Jamar McGloster

Special Teams

First Team Kicker – Sergio Casillo (WPG)

4/4 on field goals the longest being 42 yards, 1/1 on extra points.

First Team Punter – Stefan Flitoft (BC)

5 punts averaging 54 yards each.

First Team Returner – Tommylee Lewis (CGY)

8 punt returns averaging 18.3 yards each, and 3 kickoff returns averaging 30.3 yards each.

Second Team Kicker – David Cote (MTL)

2/2 on field goals the longest being 50 yards in the 4th quarter, 1/1 on extra points.

8 punts averaging 48.6 yards each.

Second Team Returner – Terry Williams (BC)

6 punt returns averaging 11 yards per return, and 6 kickoff returns averaging 18.7 yards.
